Dear Mr Tan,
I am a proud supporter of Cardiff City FC, a club which is an iconic institution of Wales' capital city. As a Cardiff City fan I have always experienced ups and downs in our performances both on and off the field. I have continued supporting the club through these highs and lows because that is what being a true fan is. There are many Cardiff Fans who have shared these experiences with me - but the experience of being a supporter of this club has never been as difficult as it is today.
You have reduced a united fan base, famed for fantastic support and passion for the club into a joke - fighting within itself and creating the worst atmosphere I have witnessed at all my time going to Cardiff City.
The reason for your re-brand was to promote the image of Cardiff City to a world wide audience, particularly in Malaysia where the colour red is seen as lucky.
The result of this is that the footballing world sees our once proud club as a joke.
You are viewed as the comical villain behind these farcical off the field headlines we see so often in the media and the fans are viewed as the unfortunate victims to what is seen as everything wrong with modern football.
I know that is not an accurate representation of you Mr Tan but whilst I respect you as a philanthropist, a self made business man and as a person - you made a truly appalling business decision when you decided to bastardize this club and turn it into a farce of a marketing tool.
We know that you only want the same result as us - to push Cardiff City towards the forefront of successful clubs which other fans from around the globe can view with envy - but this is not the way.
I urge you to listen to the clubs fans - the core of this footballing institution and return our club to its rightful colours and crest so we can be united once more in our aims to fight for our place into the most prestigious league in the world - The Barclays Premier League.
I also know Mr Tan that you are not enjoying your time as the clubs majority shareholder - you yourself have told us that your family wish for you to pull your resources away from our club and hand over the responsibility to someone else.
You can either choose to do this and be remembered as a black mark in our history, or you can carry on the way things are and watch this club deteriorate and have your time here remembered as a black mark in our history, OR you can listen to the will of the fans and together united we can create a club whos 'fire an passion' isn't a meaningless label on a beer mat logo, but who's fire and passion is witnessed and experienced from the moment our team enters the football field right through to the last whistle through both the highs and lows.
It takes a man to admit when he has made a mistake Mr Tan and it does not reflect badly on you if you can see that this is one of the biggest mistakes that you have made during your illustrious career as a business man.
You have the opportunity now, presented by hind site to reverse the damage which has been inflicted upon this club and to restore it to all its proud glory and you have a chance to get the fans back on side and support you one hundred percent as the owner of our club.
I am not a business man myself Mr Tan, but i have always been told that in business "the customer is always right" and in this case that phrase certainly rings true.
Yours Faithfully,
A Cardiff City Bluebird
