Please don't speak for me.

Wed Jan 07, 2015 3:23 pm

With regards to the meeting tomorrow, I can't understand how the club have invited 40 fan's representatives, who I am sure they believe are representing the majority of fans. It is fair to say the 40 people speak on behalf of quite a number of supporters, but surely, not the majority? It appears via social media and the boards that the main question will be regarding the rebrand. If it is assumed that the majority of fans want to go back to blue and ditch the rebrand then how has this assumption been arrived at. I have not been asked for my viewpoint. Let me play devils advocate. What if more than half of the season ticket holders are happy with the re brand how would we ever know? What I am trying to get to in a rather long winded way (sorry) is that the only way to find out the majority answer is to send a simple questionaire with the season ticket reminders, along the lines of...would you like to go back to blue with the original badge? YES or NO Surely then Mr Tan can go on Sky T V and say....This is what the majority want.

Just look in the stadium on match day, it's blue. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I think you will find that the supporters trust did a questionare sometime last year which was open to members and non members. I am not a member of the supporters trust but completed the questionare and even saw the results which happened to be an overwhelming majority wanted a return to blue, hence why they have made more of a stance against the rebrand.

I really don't understand what the issue is about the people who have been invited?? Forum owners can speak for the majority of people who comment on their forum, The trust can speak for the trust members, The travel members can speak for the people who travel with them?? What's the issue??

If you want someone to speak for you then join the supporters trust

I understand your point but unless everybody's opinion is sought then you will never know what the majority want

You only have to look around the stadium on match days to see what the majority want.

Go and wear red and wave a banner you want to stay red, outside the club on match day.
I don't think you would have the majority of the fans on your side. :D

I understand what you are saying and I accept and agree with what you are getting at.

BUT how would you select the naughty 40?

Is it on games attended? This year or last year. or past 3,5 or 7 years?
Years as a season ticket holder? - unfair on the younger ones who have not had enough time to make up the years that someone who is much older has. But are the future of the club.
Could it be decided on those who have spent the most on tickets or in the shop in the last ???? years?

It would be a mine field and whichever method is chosen would upset someone.

I believe this is the best method (one selected) - although I do not know the full list of those attending, some could be plants by Dictator Tan to unbalance any voting. I have not been asked despite attending regularly since I was a pup.

I will trust the likes of Travel Organisers to speak on my behalf as they have an understanding of their membership's views.

This.

I don't see single a red shirt on match days anymore. If the majority of our fans were happy with the red, where are the "red army" chants? Everyone knows that the majority want our blue back.

Sorry I don't think I made my point properly, or it has been taken the wrong way. I am certainly not pro red, I was merely suggesting that the decisions on our future should be down to a majority vote by ALL fans and not by those representing a minority. I did not intend to re spark the blue/red debate that has been done to death. I worry that the 40 representatives views maybe considered as the majorities, when I am not sure that is the case.

I think you may be missing the point - no consultation exercise is perfect, whatever the organisation, but it does give indications that said organisation can choose to either ignore or take on board.

That's it, nothing more or less than consultation.

I responded to the Trust survey, so they know my views and as other poster said have published those findings. I also attend matches, wear a blue and white scarf and shout "Bluebirds" along with thousands of others.

Skybluebird dont listen to half the replys there nothing but abusive. I totally agree with what your saying it shouldnt be left down to a few people to say whats what for everyone else, to be fair EVERY SINGLE season ticket holder should get a vote with whats about to come if its blue and no investment anymore or red and investment. Its the people who pay there money who should get a say in it all even though like many have said most want blue at whatever cost. :bluescarf:

Every season ticket holder has now been asked for their opinion by emailing in. Not the way I'd do it, I'd have a questionnaire, but it's a start and the 1st time in 3 years that we've had a chance!

We'll never know what the outcome would have been  but it might be 3 years late, but better now than never!

put your thinking cap on for one second old chap.

if over half of the fans were pro rebrand, would there be any need for this meeting? its obvious to even the most benighted rube that the majority (how much of a majority is open to interpretation i'll give you that) are against the rebrand now.
