Maybe this is the strike partnership slade is looking for and i think it could work and would be happy with it. Revell isnt a prolific scorer but will chip in with goals and do all the ugly target man work well work hard for the team and then this could profit islam feruz very well and he could then be the one to fire us the goals we need.
Revell as a lone striker a big no from me and we wont score enough but if someone like feruz alongside him can score the goals then it could work out a very good signing.
But if we are to play 442 we need to sign another midfielder with energy who can go box to box instead of whitts, maybe sign 2 midfielders?

Drop him and we lose our only midfielder capable of passing a ball

Drop him and replace him with a no-nonsense, tough tackling, always on the move, committed, hungrier and younger midfielder who is willing to run through brick walls for the team and we can finally start winning the battles in midfield. Which we never win when Whittingham plays in central midfield. He is wasted there, he should be playing further up the pitch, just behind the front two and told to focus 100% on the attacking side of his game, by creating and scoring goals like he used to do. As long as we have two central midfielders behind Whittingham doing all the donkey work and winning the ball back and then getting the ball to Whitts to do the creative work, we should be a lot better in both the defensive and attacking aspects of midfield. That is how to get the best out of Peter Whittingham in my opinion. I do think that eventually Dickagcoi and Adeyemi can be the 2 central midfielders behind Whitts but at the moment Dickagcoi is injured and out for a few months. Which means that we need to sign a defensive midfielder in this January window, to play alongside Adeyemi, who I feel will start showing his true worth to us after a good run in the team.

Problem is Slade will only play 4 4 2. To play whitts behind a front 2 with 2 behind him means a back 3 as you'd need a 5 man midfield and that is not going to happen. must of the better teams around play 4 5 1 with someone in the "10" role. That is what we need but slade will not budge!
