What happens if Tan says RED stays?

Wed Jan 07, 2015 11:45 am

Everyone is building up their hopes that tomorrow Tan and the club will perform a U turn and a return the club back to BLUE next season.

So where do we go if he says he understands the fans point of view but we will stay RED and that he is planning to remove all of the BLUE from inside and around the ground?

Tan has said on SSN that we will not go back to BLUE and I don't think that one game in an almost empty stadium is enough for him to change his mind.

IF TAN WAS SERIOUS ABOUT PERFORMING A U TURN DON'T YOU THINK HE WOULD MAKE THE EFFORT TO BE AT THE MEETING? IN FACT I GET A FEELING THAT THE MEETING WILL START WITH THE CHAIRMAN READING OUT A STATEMENT FROM TAN EXPLAINING HIS PLANS FOR THE CLUB, THEN THERE WILL BE A SHORT Q & A SESSION.

I hope I'm wrong but I will not be holding my breath.

I really can't see us changing back to blue due to 1 game being empty, a game which was a 3rd round fa cup game against lower league opposition.

While I consider myself to have 'boycotted' the game (I would have gone but don't want to give Tan anymore money) the club can still say it's down to being just after Christmas, shit draw etc

Good or bad news if I was Tan I wouldn't want to be at the meeting.

The hostility he would get from some people would not only piss him off more, but would also make the possibility of ANY meaningful discussion pretty much zero.

Even if he had really really good news ("I've spoken with the FA and they say we can wear away kit at home now, rebrand next year with blue" I still would not blame him for staying away with the amount of people going on about how they'll never ever forgive him and hate him

I think we should just wait and see what happens now, people are driving themselves into a frenzy of if's and buts, making all kinds of demands. People need to calm down and just wait and see what is said.

:ayatollah: He has already told us it's here to stay in his Christmas speech. One cup game isn't the game changer here, it's a presentation of a reboot of the rebrand, the blue trimmings are being introduced as the secondary colour to predominant red. It's already happened look at the advertising, club shop, season ticket etc. it will be shown to the inner 40 first with a promise of more investment, just a prediction, I hope I am very wrong. Tomorrow I feel is destined to end in disappointment and more division. :bluescarf:

I think 100% they will say we will be staying red, I can't see why everyone thinks we will be going back to blue ?

Theres nothing other than wishful thinking to say we will be doing anything other than playing in red next season. If anyone was going to walk out they should have done it when it changed a couple of years ago.

After calling a meeting with fans and raising their hopes, to say no to blue would be commercial suicide, the NoBlueNoRenew campaign would gather pace, he would face a much bigger backlash.

I think he can save face and change us back for the fans to unite the club, and explain he was badly advised.........

Doesn't it just show one bad attendance and the club
Call a meeting with the fans, it's not just that one match its also the protests arranged and the on going campaigns about next seasons renewal

Imagine if no blue no renew took off how much would that hurt them , they must be fearing that they could lose the fans

This says it all really.

If he hadn't said anything, the NoRenew movement would have continued slowly but surely (I'm not saying those who've started this don't deserve credit, they do, of course) but to speak up and arrange this only to say "we're red" would mean a HUGE jump in the movement speed and the amount of fans protesting.

He's already recently said that! so why on earth would he call a meeting of fans to say same thing?
About as much sense as pork chops at Jewish wedding! :laughing6:

Loss of 10,000 season ticket holders

Empty stadium every week

Slow death of club

City relegated

Tan never gets money back
