They go on that he gives his all and is enthusiastic... Might not have the best scoring record this season, but something we're missing? I still think we need pace on the wings and grit in the middle though, strikers are the least of my concern.

This is not a promotion signing, there is better out there and not any promotion ambition in this signing imo

You honestly think we'll get promotion? Tan is cost cutting, Malone and Revell for less than 300k for both shows that! Expect a clear out of at least 3 more big earners, and expect hard working lower league players.

If it gets blue back, so be it  might do a Bournemouth or Brentford next season, lower league players seem to be doing well there!

FANS of Cardiff City have reacted angrily to news that the Bluebirds have made a bid for Millers striker Alex Revell.

Online news website Wales Online posted a story earlier today reporting of the Championship side’s interest in the former Leyton Orient forward.

But fans commented on the article questioning the priorities of owner Vincent Tan and the ability of manager Russell Slade.

One fan, named Derrick, commented on the story saying: “Mr Tan, please get rid of this idiot you employed, Slade has no idea what he is doing.”

Another, called Doug wrote: “This is all very embarrassing......Tan must be set to sell up,” while Richard Hart wrote: “oh dear...is this the 'quality' we are going to get???”

Thirty one-year-old Revell is out of contract with the Millers in the summer and has worked with current Cardiff boss Russell Slade while both were at Orient.

The fans favourite wrote himself into Rotherham United folk law when he scored a brace in the League One play off final as Wembley last season, his second goal hailed as one of the best the the new national stadium has seen.

If Revell was to swap South Yorkshire for south Wales, he would end an almost four year affiliation with the Millers in which he has played 170 games, scored 34 goals and won two promotions.

While he certainly has qualities we lack I do wonder about this signing.

Maybe Slade thinks he can get 10 goals out of the lad before the end of the season. But as someone pointed out without more bite, guile and pace in midfield I think any striker will struggle to score goals, let alone one with such a poor scoring record.

However, having heard that Slade seems to be at the forefront of convincing Tan to reconsider the rebrand in order to unite the fans behind the team I am willing to cut him some slack.
