Maybe its a cost-cutting measure but I can't for the life of me understand why we are signing Malone from Millwall. Surely he's a step backwards from Fabio. Yea Fabio's positioning is suspect sometimes, but his overall play has been much improved, especially earlier in the season. If his defensive qualities are that much of a concern why not put him on the wing? He could definitely do a job there. I don't think we even need another left back, give Dec John more games and use Connolly as cover.

Like with the other players already left, it looks like the club are outing the quality/high earners and bringing in cheaper versions.
Money saving exercise in full swing.
Looks like the club have thrown in the towel with regards to promotion. Chances of promotion are receding every day.

Yea you are probably right there, mate. If they want to get rid of the high earners they should show Macheda and Le Fondre the door.

Fabio will be sold.
Repalced by a cheaper alternative.

If tan is as ambitious as he says he is. Building a big red pile of shit as if we are a big team.
Then buying Scott Malone and selling fabio makes absolutely zero sense.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make, mate. Talking to a Millwall supporter about Malone today, and he says he isn't the least bit disappointed to see him leave. Says it all.

Fabio has been rehind Connolly and John in recent weeks so Slade obviously doesnt rate him.

I wont be sad to see Fabio go,way too inconsistent and very poor defensively.
Give Malone a chance

If he does go, and he probably will, I hope we get a decent fee for him instead of letting him go for nothing like Cala and Eikrem. That's just poor business.

Either that or been told not to play him much. Could be either!

To be fair Fabio Works like hell and goes in on every 50/50 ball even goes in for high balls with guys much bigger than him self.

I don't want to see Fabio leave but let's give Malone a chance if and when he plays. It's not Malone's fault, Slade has to get rid of the high earners.

It is amazing how quickly our fans turn on players that are leaving.
We sign a convict in Ravel and he is lauded, then Andrew Taylor gets called everything under the sun during games and on here before he left.

could this be part of a campaign of asset stripping prior to the club being put up for sale in the near future?

There definitely seems to be something systematic about it. I'm not sure if that would be a good or a bad thing. Depends who buys it, I guess. If Revell signs from Rotherham it would probably spell the end for Kenwyne Jones, too. I know he's on massive wages but without his goals we'll be history. Can't see Revell tearing up the Championship. if I'm brutally honest, I don't think he could tear up a train ticket.

No, it's getting rid of a player who can't defend consistently well enough!
