Afterall it is an ABSOLUTE requirement under Football League Regulation 4:20.
I ask this question because of the statement issued by the club yesterday which claimed
"Cardiff City Football Club recognises that one of the key assets the Club has is its fan base.". I haven't been invited to the meeting on Thursday but if I had been I would want to know exactly how the club could demonstrate, at any level, that it recognises the value of it's customers (A.K.A it's fans) and what specifically it does to comply with the requirements of the FL regulation 4:20.
Cardiff City Football has buried it's Customer Charter in the text of it's ground regulations section on the website, it amounts to one sentance
"The Ground Regulations incorporate the Club's Customer Charter (if any)". . Impressive isn't it.
On the club website today is the revision of ground regulation issued on 15th February 2012, not exactly a live document is it. Little wonder so many city fans feel undervalued by our club.
But how does it compare with other Championship Clubs.Here is the text of the first page of the customer charter of Derby County Football Club;
Fans First Mission Statement
•We are inclusive and a club for all people
•We are proud of our heritage, yet focused firmly on the future
•We support our local community passionately
•We recognise our supporters are what makes this club so special
•We will provide a safe and comfortable environment to support the team
•We strive to add value at every touch point with the club
•Together, WE ARE DERBYAlso within the Derby County Customer Charter is an absolute commitment to "Supporter Consultation":-
Derby County Football Club offers supporters the opportunity to meet with the club at a ‘Your 90 Minutes’ meeting.
Bi monthly the Rams will hold a 90 minute Fans Forum, with an intimate group of supporters, giving fans the opportunity to ask questions and air their views to the clubs Chief Executive and a panel of staff from different areas of the club. The ‘Your 90 minutes’ events have been extremely useful feedback tool for the club to gauge our fans’ thoughts on a number of
issuesWe all know that the controlling mind at our club I.E. Vincent Tan has absolutely no respect for the heritage of our club, you only have to look at his re-brand to see that. VT also shows no appetite to engage with supporters through regular meetings with the fanbase, this despite the efforts of the Trust and Supporters club.
As fans we have the right to complain to the Football League regarding the lack of a meaningful "Customer Charter" at Cardiff City Football Club. I wonder how VT would feel to be on the end of scrutiny by the Football League for failing to apply one it's regulations.
I intend to start the process by submitting a complaint anyone else feel like joining me.
