Feeling Nostalgic last night.......Hell No

Sat Jan 03, 2015 10:00 am

As I sat looking at those empty stands with no atmosphere at all playing against
a really poor side it reminded me of what it was like back in the early 90's
Some of you want to go back to those days?? most of us old enough to remember were
dreaming of climbing out of Division 4 as we had been served year after year of Thieving
owners, awful Chairmen and an extreme lack of investment!!!!

I NEVER want to return to days like January 1st 1992 WHATEVER THE COST!!!
Ninian Park, Len Ashurst managed to get over 8,000 in the ground ( yeah right.... remember the days of bogus attendances for the taxman!!!!) There were
about 5,000 of us there to watch us get TOTALLY humiliated 5-0 by MAIDSTONE UTD.

Our prayers were answered later that year by probably the best Owner we ever had but ultimately never had the cash to take us further..... if only he had the billions that Tan
has!!!!!! I cannot remember him lying to us and finally Sold us on in a healthier position. For those of you too young to know any better, us oldies will never forget the Vision of Rick Wright R.I.P and the Great Eddie May R.I.P

I remember sitting in the newly opened family enclosure for that match below the Maidstone fans in A- Block. They were singing not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 Maidstone are winning and we're going to score more. The whole City team looked hungover and our new signing Freddy Kruger lookalike was especially awful. I'm sure that was Eddie & Ricks 1st season tho, when Eddie Newton came on loan, Aldershot went bust and we missed the play offs but won the Welsh Cup.
