Jacks home in the next round, who would miss that one? It would be sold out. :laughing6:

No it wouldn't. And nothing to do with your rebrand/boycotting either. It would take a much bigger draw than us too fill your ground at the moment. In fact, for a 4th round tie I don't think you could get 33000 for anyone apart from Man Utd, and even then you'd have the red scarfs back.

Of course we would, it's a South Wales Derby, no one would miss it other than those who are fully boycotting now. If we're selling 20,000 tickets on average in the Championship we would definitely get over 30,000 for you lot or a 'big' team.

It would sell out easy imo.

I don't know how old you are John, and I don't mean too sound condescending, but I've seen Derbies between us with less than 5000 in the ground, and that is when both sets of fans were allowed in. You are not having 20000 gates, it's more like 15, and most of those are season ticket holders, so you try asking 30000 Cardiff fans too shell out to watch you play against us is quite frankly a no go. Of course, thats assuming we even make the draw! ;)

All hyperthetical of course, but just too add, I reckon we would sell between 12-1500.

Oh go then, I'll compromise. £5 a ticket across the board and it will.............Maybe? ;)

I'm 20, so I've only seen the derbies of the modern era (since that League Cup tie). So tell me, when was the last derby in the league or FA Cup that was lower than 10,000? Must've been decades ago surely? I wouldn't know.

I know the actual attendance is more like 15,000 at our games, but the fact is that we've sold over 20,000 tickets for every game this season other than two I think. We even had over 24,000 for the Leeds game in November. But poor form has conceded a lot of season ticket holders not to turn up lately.

But for a one off big game, everyone would turn up. No doubt about it. 30,000+ easily for the likes of Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool or you lot. All clubs have fickle fans.

I remmber a few seasons ago Swansea drew Leyton orient. At the Liberty I think Swansea lost it was live on tv early kick as well they pulled in only about five to six thousand fans the place was just as bad as ours last night but that's what happens know when you draw lower league teams .and don't forget swansea where on there wy up in terms of progression but it happens to every club know .i still think we would have pulled in a small crowd even if everything at the club was going well

I don't care who we draw if it's a home tie. I will not be buying any home ticket no matter who it's against. I will be going to the remaining home games in the league though unless there is an official boycott but I can't see it happening.

If we draw a smaller side away I might go then, only premier league team would probably be Villa because I missed it last season and it's a ground I've always fancied going too

I couldnt be arsed with both derbies last season and wouldn't be arsed this season. The south wales public would much rather see us draw liverpool or united.

I would too. The Jacks would absolutely slaughter us. I'd much rather lose to a big club, less embarrassing.

Your a die hard fan Jon, yet even you are now saying you would prefer a bigger club. So how do you think the fairweather fan would view the tie? As I said, nothing to do with rebrand or boycotting, the interest would just not be there. And trust me, it's not often I agree with Murph! :laughing6:

I want to play a bigger club purely to save us the embarrassment

Every South Wales Derby since the reunion back in 2008 has been sold out, the derby at CCS last season was over 27,000 when we extended for the Premier League (even if murphy couldn't be arsed). To say that the interest wouldn't be there regardless of the rebrand and the boycotting is crazy! What makes you think fans on both sides wouldn't be interested?

There were times where the gates for Derby games were piss poor, especially in the years after that infamous night at Ninian Park, when the Jacks were stupidly put in upper Block A of the Grandstand, above a section of the Junior Bluebirds in lower Block A. Jacks throwing wooden seats at the kids and OAPs in the Grandstand was a sickening sight, coupled with the mass invasion of the pitch from City fans in the Bob Bank and Canton, to try and get to the Jacks meant that many fans were put off from attending the Derby for many years. I went with my sister to the game and she said she'd never watch the City again and she hasn't. Think it was after this game that away fans were banned from this fixture for a few years. It took a good few years for the derby to recover from those days, in terms of attendances.

Yes, I'd boycott the Jacks in the Cup and whoever else we'd draw at home.

Would be a perfect game to boycott imaging we had a crowd same as last night would make national papers but we all now it wouldn't happen.

That wasn't the OP but understand what your saying, we were always better as the underdog.

Ok then say we draw u home i do think we would pull a crowd of over 30,000 and would'nt you get 15% of 33,000 as its a cup game so that takes jst under 5,000 tickets from us!!! Take another 1000 or 1500 for a police segregation. We'd fill it im sure

Re: Jacks home in next round who would boycott?

Sun Jan 04, 2015 12:36 pm

i think the question was if we drew any big club from the premier league would you boycott the game it does'nt have to be swansea if we did draw liverpool there are enough liverpool fans in south wales to fill the stadium so on paper at least it would like a sell out for home fans, so would you still boycott the game

Re: Jacks home in next round who would boycott?

I'd boycott. I'm not doing another home game till we are blue
