Take a look inside the home of Cardiff City as only around 4,000 fans turned up to watch the FA Cup clash with Colchester
Thousands of Bluebirds fans stayed away from Cardiff City Stadium on Friday night as the 3-1 FA Cup win against Colchester was watched by a record low crowd.
Just 4,194 fans turned up at the match and those who attended were greeted by rows of empty seats and an eerie, almost silent, atmosphere.
The match was played out amid a backdrop of supporter unrest, with some fans opting to stay away in protest at the club's rebrand.
The unglamorous fixture was screened live on BBC Wales and it is unclear how many fans would have turned up if there were no off-field issues.
The lowest gate previously recorded at Cardiff City Stadium was 5,545 for a League Cup tie against Dagenham five years ago.
Other lowest crowds from previous years were 6,080 for a League Cup tie against Burton in 2010 and a gate of 6,491 for this season’s abject 3-0 home League Cup loss to Bournemouth.
Take a look at this video and these pictures from inside the stadium to get a feel of what it was really like.
