' One of Russell Slades first Signings is expected to be Dean Cox '
Slade Ive been told has always thought highly of him and would like him to join Cardiff City, be interesting if he does come.
Cox signed a new contact at Orient in July 2014 until 2017.
Also Slade still wants Kevin Nugent, but Tan prefers him to have Young as his NO 2.

If he has any sense he won't come just what we need a 5ft 3inch centre mid lol

If any further example of Tan's lack of football is needed it is the statement that he wants Scott Young to continue as Slade's number 2.

Leyton Orient boss Fabio Liverani insists it would take a ‘crazy’ offer for the O’s to part with midfielder Dean Cox in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 27-year-old scored his 50th goal for the club in the 3-0 win at Yeovil Town tonight as Orient moved up to 19th in the League One table, which followed swiftly in the footsteps of his 49th in the 4-1 Boxing Day success over Crawley Town.
And despite Cox hinting after the 2-0 loss at Barnsley on December 20 that ‘maybe my time is up’ at the club, Liverani insists the player who only signed a new three-year deal in the summer is likely to remain at the club unless a big offer comes in for the former Brighton & Hove Albion man.
On top of that, the O’s Italian boss will attend a meeting with chairman Francesco Becchetti tomorrow to discuss their plans for the upcoming transfer window.
“Cox is a very important player for us,” said Liverani via a translator.
“We want to retain him and we are not planning to let anyone go in January. We will meet the chairman tomorrow to discuss strategies for the January transfer window.
“But Cox is a Leyton Orient player and unless someone offers crazy money for him we won’t let him go.”

Well. Old Russell kept his promise, he would only sell Daehli for a big fee. Got crazy money to spend now on div one players

How inspiring!!

I can hardly contain my excitement, some key signings coming up by the looks of it.

What is a div1 big fee ? £250k??

Up to £500k unless exceptional? But scanny probably thinks £250k is massively overpriced!

Remember we bought Roger Johnson from lowly Wycombe for like 250k? Uninspiring. Loovens for 180k from a dutch team. Joe Mason from Plymouth. The list goes on. How about everyone judges him after he's played? I bet he won't be a pussy in midfield like the rest our lightweight mid

No probably a shit trier.......

I don't think this will be a straight forward transfer, the new owner of Leyton Orient will try and screw us for every penny, like he did with Slade. We'll probably end up paying over the odds.
Thu Jan 01, 2015 10:29 pm
Orient have had a couple of wins lately and are still 19th in the league..
Not a great cv
You can't compare to roger Johnson or mason as both were young and up and coming... This guy is not.. Just because slade can't utilise international proven players he goes with league 1 journeyman...

Personally, I have no problem with lower league players, will judge him on how he plays. However I do think expect him to play well as we have that idiot in charge. The formation and tactics are our biggest problem.

Nothing wrong with buying lower league players, we've bought some great players over the years from lower leagues, but Slade needs to do well this month.

He's a winger.

I said months back this was his first signing.
His agent lives in Brighton. Right or left winger.

Video of Cox's goals for us;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nctQR1e ... e=youtu.beI would be gutted if he left, he is our best player and probably has been since he joined us, and I include Charlie Daniels and Moses Odubajo in that (Although the latter will be better without doubt).
He has the technical ability and intelligence within his game to do well in the Championship, I just question whether he is half a yard of pace too slow. I think he should be able to do a job.

Can't believe some of you guys are slaughtering the geezer Coxy when you probably haven't even seen him play. He has been the top assists player in League 1 for last 2/3 seasons. His heart and his desire to win are bigger than his height. You could do a lot worse. Slade will get the best out of him like he did last season when we lost the play-off final on penalties. Watch this video and say you wouldn't like him to score some of these in a Cardiff shirt.
@leytonorientfc: Here we go...watch all of @dean_7cox's 50 goals for Orient. Which is your favourite?
