A good idea mate, trouble is doing this as individuals, hardly anyone would take the time out to go and buy one, this needs to be done in groups, qith someone prepared to buy on bulk and give them out

As protests go this is quite a good one as far as getting attention. As ever though it needs to be organised and at least a few hundreds fans would have to be involved. If anyone can be bothered, find somewhere to buy the balls in large amounts, organise to meet outside the ground before the game so you know you definitely have the numbers and agree do throw them at a set time, 19.27 being the obvious.
There will be some that will moan about disrupting the game or affecting the players (as if) but they have to be ignored.
Go for it!

Herein lies the problem, plenty willing on social media, but not so many in reality. This needs a decent size group of mates to get sorted out but it should be pretty simple.
I guess your best chance is to get a Facebook group or whatever organised, get a PayPal set up for donations, buy a big bag of them then give them out at a pre arranged location away from the ground, maybe in Canton.

Is there a sports shop in canton??????,someone could check and see if they sell blue tennis balls, and organise everyone to meet there on a match day, better option than leaving it to someone to buy and distribute

Great idea, although I get searched before every game so would struggle to get a tennis ball in

You would be better off buying soft rubber balls (similar size to tennis balls but much cheaper and softer if they hit someone on the nugget).
If someone could coordinate a collection for approx £500, you could probably purchase 3000-4000 balls from Alibaba or Ebay on bulk which could then be distributed to fans entering the ground.
However, I would not be suprised if the stewards try to evict people for throwing them, though they would have a job dealing with thousands.
Rubber balls could also be easily squashed into pockets to avoid detection on entry

Good idea, but there will be problems getting into the stadium without them getting confiscated and some fans might struggle managing to throw them onto the pitch if they're too far back. Would look impressive if we could pull it off with a couple of thousand of us throwing them onto the pitch at once mind!

Although I agree with the aim behind this protest, there are 2 major disadvantages we need to consider...
1. Throwing an object onto the pitch is an offence, prosecution or bans could be issued.
2. If a player got injured (say twisted an ankle treading on one) we as fans would be responsible, fingers would be pointed and it will have a negative effect on the campaign.
I'm all in favour of blue balloons, tikka tape and good old fashioned blue toilet rolls though
