A letter in the media
I and 20,000 others are getting really fed up of the constantly moaning minority section of “supporters” of CCFC venting their bias, bitterness and hugely exaggerated claims.
A recent back-page comment described as fact that “the overwhelming majority of the 25,000 fans attending games are behind them in the determination to revert to blue shirts”.
Now this is simply not true.
Of the average 20,000 paying fans, 95% would come and support their team if they played in pink!
That is why they continue to attend.
So please, the tiny proportion of moaning radicals, have your poorly supported marches and protests by not attending games.
But the solid fan base of 20,000-plus will be supporting Cardiff City and will continue to ignore this small, noisy and embarrassing section who would be doing us a huge favour by carrying out one of many “threats” by boycotting their attending games.

Everyones entitled to their opinions

But Steve has his facts wrong to start with only between 14,000-15,000 fans have actually been attending home games including the away fans .

Understand your position but totally disagree your numbers.
Truth will out next season.
As an ST I stopped going to games in the premier season.
Even promotion to it was hard to fully endorse.
It may be just a colour and a badge to some fans-
But that is what football is all about.
Your team, your colours, your crest.
It's not a cinema for sport - it is a cathedral of your club.
Both in our colours and our stadium, the fans should be inclusive
To decisions.
No fans = no club

Steve West is an absolute bell, he's always sending I'll informed, pompous rubbish like this to the Echo.
Tue Dec 30, 2014 8:23 pm
There's always one int there!

What a load of utter rubbish.

FFS what planet is he on!!!!!

This guy is a made up person, the local papers always use to do this with the letter section when I worked there, it's a well tried and tested formula when the newspapers want to generate responses, I can't believe anybody actually believed he is a true person

Steve West very much exists and is as vociferous on social media about this view as he is in the Echo.

Indeed he is Barry. He is also a Chelsea supporter foremost and only has an interest in Cardiff as it is his local team. He does not go to games but claims to have an excuse in the fact he is disabled.
I just think WOL give him the space to build up controversy.

This is a post that explains why Cardiff City as a Club and a passionate fan base has died. This is a club I don't recognise and fans like the OP has killed it with there one direction thinking of Tans money will make the Club overtake the Jacks. But nah they (the Jacks) ain't sold there souls like the original poster has.

Where does he get solid fan base of 20,000 from. We have a solid fan base of probably less than 8,000, as will be shown if we get relegated.

Steve West is an attention seeking troll who posts regularly in the Echo spouting his pro red and Tan shit. Seen him on Facebook as well. He has pictures in Chelsea kits and openly supports them and admits he dosent even watch Cardiff City. Either way your thinking on the re brand it's fine but to come from this idiot dosent even count. Rant over Chief lol

What gives him the right to speak on behalf of 20,000 others. How many of those did he actually approach to get their true opinions. I haven't noticed 20,000 red scarves in the stadium recently, hardly surprising when most of the "reds" have gone now the success has dried up. There are always a few loud mouths who have nothing better to do then write in to papers and the likes, and who think that they are an expert on almost everything and therefore represent most peoples views. Usually, they now absolutely jack shit about anything.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if mine was as deluded as this clown, then I certainly wouldn't be publicising it. I'm not going to get personal but his LinkedIn profile just confirms the obvious.
https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/steve-west/30/95a/a67 It doesn't surprise me that Wales Off-Line have asked him for a 'controversial' filler letter to get responses as like Steve, it hasn't got a clue and has to much time on its hands. Happy New Year.

Apart from his numbers, he isn't far wrong. Club before colour for me. Can't believe that most of the singing in the ground is all about blue. Not sure what the players think, but if you feel you're all doing your bit. CARRY ON REGARDLESS.

This type of bollox stops if we "no blue no renew"...... Spin it whatever way you want, if there are not 18K season tickets endorsing the rebrand, then trolls can't spout rubbish.....
But, sadly Tan's cheap tickets will buy a lot of our fans, it worked last time, why won't it work again.

This is why I'm doubtful about the boycott.
Even if the renewal of STs are cheap, we will soon find out, but the uptake is low I can see Tan bringing the walk down price to a new low. I can image him double the away support by lowering their prices. He will try all the tricks in the book to bolster the attendances.
