" Russell Slade gets the dreaded vote of confidence "

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=152138 :thumbright:

Russell Slade has been handed the poisoned chalice no football manager wants - the dreaded vote of confidence...but he's not the first manager to get one.

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade became the latest man to be given the dubious honour as owner Vincent Tan offered his support, despite a string of terrible results but the Bluebirds have been no strangers to managerial sackings in the last decade...

May 2005: Lennie Lawrence was backed by chairman Sam Hammam – Within weeks he'd lost his job.

Jan 2011: Dave Jones was given the vote of confidence by chief executive Gethin Jenkins. He was sacked the following May.

Feb 2014: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was backed by chief executive Simon Lim. He was sacked in September.

We all know it doesn't matter who the manager is until Tan goes.

Until the day Tan goes, we'll always be a sinking ship.

Strange that, also remember Malky being told his job was safe then sacked days later

No way Tan will sack Slade. They will blame everyone and everything for bad results. But he is Tans man, so he is safe.
It will be a pleasant surprise if I'm wrong though :bluescarf:

Yeah i know many wouldn't have expected him too but he did

I found this on Mirror, looks like Dalman wanted to keep Malky on and helped the situation for a little while.

Tan didn't say that. He wanted Malky gone. Then there was the protest at Anfield, and Malky got a reprieve, for a few days. Dalman apparently persuaded Tan to hold fire, but then Southampton thrashed us on Boxing Day, and that was that. There was a great protest before the Southampton game too. :bluescarf:

If Slade gets the sack, then Tan will blame Malky again, like the dick always does !!!!!!!!! Tan is the problem and now it it looks like Pulis will go to WBA

He's a businessman, he know's IF Slade is going to get us relegated or close to drop we wont be worth as much money to any potential buyer.
He only employed him for two reason.

1. Can control him.
2. Will be cheap on wages, and to sack.

he will sack him if need be, he is a businessman.

hopefully will be gone by mid january so whoever is coming in has enough time to bring players in and ship out anyone who isnt interested. i dont have much faith in slade's pulling technique player wise and worried we will be cementing ourselves in mid-bottom table with the calibre of player he will attract.
