8,200 Cardiff City Season ticket holders not attending games

Mon Dec 29, 2014 7:14 pm

Just Read this on City Gents Twitter Account and Nigel Blues(Nigel Harris)

Police say 14000.at Watford game so 8200 (almost 1/2 our season tickets) didn't bother. Tan is self destructing CCFC.

The best possible protest is not to renew your season tickets for next season. Remember, you could still pay for the cheapest seats on the day if you wish to attend matches and sit in most areas of the stadium, as there will be so many spare seats to move around to. At least you will not be included in false attendance figures if you choose not to attend.

Annis, NoBlueNoRenew is the way forward without doubt.
If we ALL stick together on this I can see results. :bluescarf:

I'm not surprised by this because by my seat in the family stand there is a family of 5 who haven't been since Leeds at home. Before that they had attended every home match so got a feeling they won't be buying ST when they go on sale next month.

I have been told the half season ticket offer the club had failed to sell even double figures, hell of a message for VT if that is true.

Looks like Friday night may well be the lowest crowd at the CCS for a first team game.

That's excellent news IMO.
Looking around, the family stand looks the hardest hit with regards to empty seats with the Canton not far behind.
The area where I am in the Ninian looks to be pretty full still. How does it look from the Family stand?

We won't be going friday, even though we already have tickets. It's bloody freezing, the football is shite to watch and after yesterdays dire result most people around me left early, even Alan Whitely left early!!

No Blue, No renew....has the makings of a new years chant before next seasons tickets go on sale.
Come on the 'Big Gobs' in the Canton End, I'm sure you can adapt the lyrics to a suitable tune.
It may catch on if enough fans wake up on match days.

With the game on TV thought a protest outside while the game was on would of been a good idea. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

If your maths are correct, then there were no Watford supporters at the game!

Wouldnt tell you what to do Annis, but why don't you stay away? I was torn for months after the rebrand and to cut a long story short, I've purposely missed the last 3 home games despite having a season ticket.
I've been going since 1974. Its the most consecutive games I've missed since 1987 and the first game not being there churned me up inside. Since then, Tan has spouted his usual shite and I'm enjoying my weekends again. Sad to say but I didnt even look for the scores Saturday.
The minute the blue returns, then I'll be there. Until then he can do one.
They had better sort something out quickly because everyone I have spoken to are doing the same as me.

Had to attend a wedding but my ST was used, but agree the attendances are no where near what is being recorded.

A lot of fairweathers bought in the family stand, for Cup finals, the first out of the door now we are not doing well.......

Obviously some good solid fans in there still.......

For the sake of our clubs history and traditions please do not attend the match on Friday. If you are asked why you are not going then speak loud and proud about our club, our traditional colours and our bluebird emblem. Being a Bluebird is for life and not for temporary glory hunting or pampering to the ego's of narcissists.

I'm not going.

It has nothing to do with playing badly because we've all sat through worse than this and continued to attend.

It's a boycott. Something has to give soon.

Yes our numbers are slacking off in the family stand, there wasnt a good match attendance last year either so i dont think its the football. Facts are, folk are generally pissed off with everything Cardiff due to one thing, the Dictator.

The way things are going, our club will be lucky to get 8,200 total attendance per game next season! :old: :angry4:

i think things will only hit home with tan when there are vast swathes of empty seats with fans boycotting, rather than buying a ticket and not turning up, with the CEO having to explain to tan why people aren't paying and turning up. until then, its all water off a ducks back to tan.

What's happening slightly reminds me of what happened down the city 44 years ago. In the 70/71 season when we almost made the top flight we averaged around 21,500 crowds. When the club sold Toshack to Liverpool and loads of fans thought the club had no ambition, the crowds dropped remarkably, around 16,000 average the following season and around 9,000 average the season after that. Fans were pissed off at the club back then, now history is about to repeat itself imo.

My memory is a bit hazy when recalling those days, but I think David Goldstone had been the chairman around then, and a lot of supporters reckoned Cardiff had deliberately thrown promotion because they couldn't afford top flight football. I was too young to understand finances back then, and never really understood why that would happen.
