A Drone carrying a banner

Mon Dec 29, 2014 5:15 pm

Can't think why this hasn't been mentioned sooner, why don't we use a drone with a massive banner saying "We'll always be BLUE" the next time we have a televised game? It really caused a stir in the serbia v albania game. Granted that's another story and i'm not suggesting we'll have riots in the stadium but if that isn't nationwide (possibly globally) news worthy then I don't know what is. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Do you have a drone :?:

Nope. Wouldn't want to spend £500 on something the club/coppers would confiscate the minute it lands. Split that figure between a group of people and the idea's a bit more realistic.

Could it be flown from outside the ground, and then flown back out to land?

Would take a bit of effort (and someone on the inside) to control it though!

Well they have camera's on them so you wouldn't necessarily need to see it to control it. Depending on the antennas you could probably control it from outside the stadium too. :laughing6:

I like this idea, it'd get world wide publicity.
I'm sure someone posted a video of a drone with a camera on board flying over the ccs, so it can be done.

True. I guessed the camera ones would be more expensive.

I'd chip in a tenner, and i know loads who would also chip in,all we need is someone to sort it out

You need a type of aviation licence to use a drone. Better off getting on the pitch , have you all gone soft . f**k me the youth of today. No good raising scarves, better of raising hell. :old:

An aviation license for using a toy drone, don't talk nonsense. This isn't a drone like the Americans use to bomb isis
It'd get more publicity than running on the pitch for a few seconds. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I am not on about some plastic toy from poundland. Anything of any size to carry a flag you would need something substantial hence a licence check it out

I can see what your saying but i don't think presenting the OB with a nicely typed up document is gunna get you off the hook from flying a drone into a football stadium. The idea would be not to get caught, no need for a license :ayatollah:

This is all you need to carry a flag, could probably get one even cheaper. License ffs

If you think that will carry a flag that anyone can see, I guess you haven't tried flying them. You measure the weight that these things are capable of carrying in grams, anything more than a few ounces make them virtually impossible to fly.

It doesn't take a big drone to carry a flag, remember this.

Not trying to put a dampener on things, but I think he was thinking of a massive banner rather than a small flag. Still, anything is better than nothing. I still think that the only thing that may work is a total boycott of matches, but that is not going to happen.

Why not fly it over in a light aircraft, this can be done by hiring it as Blackpool did at Preston NE, it would cost circa £300 to £500 for a banner and fly past, taking off from Cardiff Wales airport :bluescarf:
