He didn't last long at palace, could he do a job for us?

Neil Warnock: Crystal Palace sack manager after Southampton defeat

Sat 27th Dec 2014

Neil Warnock has become the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season after being dismissed by Crystal Palace.
The 66-year-old joined the Eagles for a second time in August 2014, following the departure of Tony Pulis.

However Palace's 3-1 defeat at home against Southampton on Boxing Day left them in the relegation zone.
Assistant manager Keith Millen will be in charge for the trip to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
It is understood that Palace are looking to appoint permanent successor as soon as possible.

A club statement read: "The club would like to put on record its thanks to Neil for all his hard work and energy over the past four months."

Always liked Warnock would love him to come to Cardiff, but there's no way he would work under that idiot Tan.

I think he actually said that in an interview on sky sports when the Malky saga was going on.

If Tan was interested in getting someone good in hed have employed Pullis,no way does Warnock come here

Always thought that Warnock would manage us one day, what a wonderful opportunity for us to get him, he wouldn't take long to sort out the non tryers and would certainly bring back fire and passion to our team. Yet again wouldn't be able to work with Tan as Warnock's a mans man but given a free role would easily take us back to the Premiership.

I suspect you'll see Warnock slip back into his pundit role on Talk Sport

I always enjoyed listening to him and I heard him say many time that the Pal;arse job was his "last hoorah"

Always a great tussle against his teams and he always had time for proper football 'banter' with our fans

Best of luck to Warnock for his future whatever he decides to do

I'm a bit surprised by this they are not in the bottom 3 and i thought their chairman would give him a chance when he brought him in anyway i hope they go down.

Met the guy when he was at Notts County. Always considered him a small character of Brian Clough.

Neil Warnock? I'd be happy with Neil Kinnock at the moment.

Used to like Warnock until he tried to defend that thug Claude Davis when he almost decapitated Roger Johnson at Palace a few years ago.

Was really worried that I was actually going to see a player die on the pitch after that assault but Warnock claimed that Johnson ran into Davis' elbow!

Having said that, I'd still take him over Slade on a purely footballing basis, even though the first two signings would probably be Shaun Derry and Paddy Kenny!

A one legged Shaun Derry would be a better option than what we have at the moment.

Slade was certainly not my preferred choice and I would currently take any manager with Championship/Premiership experience.

I cannot see why the club would take a gamble on an unproven manager at this level who was about to get the sack from a League 1 club! Why did City gamble? I suppose money must have come into the equation somewhere.

Warnock not ideal but his natural level is the top 2 divisions and would clearly do far better than the lower league journeyman Tan was fooled into recruiting.

Best manager we've had at QPR for many a year.

Instantly lifted the place. Worked under 3 maniacs, Paladini, Ecclestone & Briatore so Tan would be a walk in the park.

Only thing I'd question is has he still got his magic. Very short spell at palace with bad results. Premier league yes but again down to whether he's just not got it anymore. I really don't know.

From experience I'd say well worth a punt.
