The first half we were pretty good IMO
The line up was strong , the exclusion of manga was strange but maybe he had a knock
The way Slade set us up using the 4-4-2 with noone in the free role behind the strikers was genius
Nobody expected it , least of all Charlton who struggled to cope with the new tactics .
The second half was awful .
Was that Slade's fault with a change of ideas at half time or did the players just let him down badly ?
I'm no Slade fan and think he is not the guy for a squad like this but I can't help feeling the players are at fault today not the manager . In all fairness what did Slade actually do wrong today to deserve the abuse aimed at him tonight ?
The substitutions weren't bad , Le Fondre was tired and out of luck so was replaced with a pacey confident winger to cause them problems down the wings . Nothing really wrong with that seeing as the other option was macheda who is massively off form.
The season is pretty much over for us now , or at least definatly will be if we lose to watford . I think we should give him time to see if he can make the step up

Can't complain about 1st half like you say spot on! Its 2nd half that bothers me wtf did Slade say or not say to get such an abject display from players?

I agree 100%.

Game after game slade sits back and does refuses to change anything when things aren't working.
An extra man to most management teams would mean something but not to slade.

Le Fondre should not have started.
Charlton changed their style of play and formation in the 2nd half and Slade and his coaching staff did not know how to cope and were unable to change our style of play. No plan B,C or D.

We rarely have a plan A.
For some reason stade just doesn't see what's happening or if he does he doesn't know how to counteract it.

Well he brought on sub's but nothing changed? Must presume he didnt get his message across or he didn't have idea of how to change game and did it for effect!!

He generally changes like for like. Some reason I've noticed he likes to change whoever us at left back but not today.
Even stranger he complained about bad defending yet left his 3 defenders on the bench.

It wasn't the defending that was problem it was the ability to push forward and creat any sort of chance against ten men!!

I don't know why people think our manager should be having to change tactics in a game like this !
We were 1-0 up , they were down to ten men and our game plan was working until half time . The players didn't come back out again and continue what they started first half which I would expect is what they were told to do .
We had 2 players who are captains of their country's on the pitch .
9 players who have played premier league football
A right back who is widely regarded as the best in the division
A goalkeeper who was touted at 10/15 million last season
That alone without any input from the manager should be enough to put a poor Charlton team with ten men away !
The players are at fault today IMO

interesting to hear a different view. The approach to the game we should accept Slade got it correct with the 1 - 0 and cruising to H/T.
The players badly let themselves down today regardless on your feelings about Slade

1st half sounded great. Slade fucked it with tactical awareness. Charlton made 2 subs 2nd half and changed formation. They got the upper hand because of this. How did Slade react? Same as always, sat back and did nothing

Spot on, although I think Le Fondre partnering Jones was fine

Of course he should be changing tactics throughout the game. We caught Charlton off guard, their manager reacted and I think he may have gone 3 at the back? They changed to counteract what we was doing. It worked and Slade did nothing about it until it was too late and Charlton had the momentum. That's poor game management by Slade.
I'm only going off what I listened to and read on various match reports etc so maybe wrong but for me it's down to Slade not being aware of what Charlton were doing

Says it all really: let's take a look further:
Marshall - should be in the premiership, won' be because his wife loves it here - Swansea are bidding in Jnauary!!
Worst central middfield in the league and now Gunaarson is reverting to throwing the ball because he's fecking useless at kicking it!
Macheda is crap
Le Fondre is bloody useless
Maynard is finished!
Noone is overrated
Fabio is talented but a liability
Our best center half warms the bench
Our best youngster warms the bench
Our best striker and most skillful forward is off in January after 90 minutes in 6 months!
Morrison should be working in there
Connolly is in love with the manager
Brayford needs to shave
Scott Young is also loved up with Tan, Gabbidon is obviously kissing someones arse in the club and Slade is probably worse than Alan Durban.
Yep, it's all good here lately!
