Can't defend slade no more

Fri Dec 26, 2014 6:07 pm

I was one of a few posters who despite knowing slade wasnt the man to get us promoted thought he had steadied the ship, had stopped the rot and was doing an ok job with the shambles left to him by Ogs. It's not helping him having the dictator getting shot of certain players, neither is not having an experienced number two but am afraid Russle even the most positive of posters can see now that the honeymoon period is over that your actually not very good.

Dropping Kadeem who was arguably our best player last week!!! Very strange! The players also need to take responsibility, formations tactics all goes out the window if you don't work or have any desire or are simply not good enough.

You just knew city would screw it up, the cracks that have been papered over are now appearing.

tend to agree but i am still hoping jan he will get right men in to do the job he requires team to do, the changes actually helped as he went for diamond formation 1st half, 2nd half was a shambles how on earth can a team be so bad compared to 1st half and team down to 10men!! was basically brentford in reverse?? :o

young/gabbidon must go at the very least

We will have to wait and see if that happens, I would welcome some high energy hungry quick players even if the quality isn't as good, you need a blend of different types in a team.

But Jekyll and Hyde is what we are, it was no surprise today that we couldn't close the game let alone go and score more.

the changes worked first half
maybe resting harris for sunday was needed hes young and just got in the side
ever thought maybe the players are at fault rather than the manager all the time :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

yes people cannot complain about the changes because he also changed formation to a diamond one and it worked? what happened 2nd half is a mystery :o

Like you say, first half we seemed alright but the second half we came out a different team, despite having the same players out there. Now is that the fault of Slade, the players or both? Slade sensibly made a defensive substitution on 69 minutes taking off Le Fondre, putting Harris on to give us an extra man in midfield, which should have helped us keep the ball more and control the game having a man extra. It's easy to blame Slade but there's only so much he can do. The players should take the majority of the blame today imo.

Yes, agree with you completely as I put in my post, but the buck will always stop with manager because if they continue to perform so poorly week in week out then he has the power to remove them. A one off bad performace the players can be at faułt, but consistently poor he is rightly going to take flack.

I agree that the players must take blame but if you ever want to make a complaint, who has it on the neck be it a bad meal, hotel or whatever. The Manager. Am not on here slating slade, but my opinion of him is starting to change.

But when a side makes subs, changes formation and starts getting the upper hand, it's down to the manager to think on his feet and find a way to stop it. He has a choice between changing players, changing formation or both. Once again Slade does nothing because he has no plan B. It's his job to pick the side. It's his job to manage the side during the game. It's his job to motivate the players.

Sorry but if the players are not up for it, that comes down to Slade noticing it and making subs and even leaving them out next game. He doesn't. He very rarely changes the side
