Cardiff City Supporters Trust say they will not give up on their fight to return the club to its traditional blue colours

Cardiff City fans have told Vincent Tan they will not give up on their campaign to see the club return to its traditional blue colours despite the owner's defiant Christmas Day blast at supporters.

Tan issued a defiant statement just days after supporters groups joined together to announce protest plans in January, insisting there was nothing they could do to make him ditch the rebrand he introduced more than two years ago.

The Malaysain billionaire also accused those planning to voice their anger of not honouring their side of the bargain after he invested more than £100m into the club on condition he could introduce a new red kit and dragon-themed badge.

But those supporters today declared they have no intention of backing down, predicting many will not renew season tickets unless Tan changes his mind.

"It won't have any effect on our campaign. We are determined to return this club to its rightful blue colours, said Cardiff City Supporters Trust spokesman and board member Phillip Nifield.

"The protests will go on and we will not stop.

"Mr Tan is playing a very dangerous game as he continues to alienate fans. Some supporters have already walked away and lots of fans may well vote with their feet when it comes to renewing season tickets which will have a direct financial impact on the club.

"He clearly has no respect for the history and tradition of this club which is very disappointing, especially as those things are such an important part of Malaysian culture.

"He needs to remember it is the fans who make the game of football and this once again highlights how important it is to have a supporter presence on the board of football clubs."

During an interview with Sky Sports aired on Christmas Day, Tan said he had acted with honour since arriving at the club but he questioned whether Cardiff supporters have done the same.

“They should know that when I first invested in the club I said I would put in up to £100m if they would let me change the colour to red and use the red dragon as the symbol and replace the bluebird emblem.

“After all, the red dragon is the symbol and national flag of Wales. At the time everyone agreed and I kept my part of the bargain. I have invested now more than £100m so if they are protesting are they keeping their part of the bargain?

"I have done my part and they all agreed."

Responding to those claims, Mr Nifield said many fans felt they were left with little choice when the rebrand was introduced in 2012 and he called on Mr Tan to fulfil his own pledge to convert all his loans into shares and leave the club debt free.

"Yes, many supporters went along with it because they had to. It was 'red or dead', the fans had a gun to their head.

"He has to accept that the red has been a miserable failure.

"The fans are tired of all the off-field problems and bad publicity after the Malky Mackay affair and the Premier League season that turned into a nightmare. The atmosphere is awful at the stadium.

"He has said many times he will convert his loans into equity but he has failed to do that."

A referendum never happened the decision making us red was never democratic and that what brtain is all about.
There was never a fair vote or never detailed planning regarding the rebrand it was totally dictated by tan who has ruined cardiff city fc.
The fa should also take the blame for letting this happen to a member club.
I think Cardiff fans have been more than honourable in sticking with the club.

Tan is dishonourable the way he has gone about his time at Cardiff City fc.
The fa and welsh fa should finally take over and things will now turn ugly.

I hope it all resolves it self soon because its been a horrible missirable few years under dictator tan Cardiff fans didn't deserve to be treated this way .
The fa wouldn't let man u be treated like this we've been let down as football fans.

City fans should unite once and for all and the Red Brigade should now just admit they were wrong and wanted glory before history/pride and tradition :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
