Not sure if anyone has done anything like this before so sorry if they have!
Just wondering, if i was to make a kickstarter project (to get donations) to raise £550 for a giant "WE ARE BLUE" flag, like the big one derby have, would you say it's a decent idea?
I was thinking if we could get that out (24ftx12ft) in time for one of the protest games soon it would really help send out a message?
Cheers

Nice idea, but you won't get it passed the stewards.

Yeah thats what i was worried about, but I've taken a bag in before with clothes etc in and they really didn't check carefully at all so it wouldn't be impossible?

Surly there is nothing they can do about it as long as it's not offensive?

Yeah just smuggle it in a bag, they can't do sod all just get it up quickly. Even if they do take it down they can confiscate it!

The actual cost was 478 quid or so, but kickstarter charge a fee plus vat, then p&p too so that's why it's a bit higher!

Would be more than happy to contribute to this. One thing I would say is have back up plan just in case you don't reach the full £550.

We should have one with a legend such as Fred Keenor.

How about organising it that everyone takes one blue balloon in. In 19.27 we all inflate, tie and ket go? Would cause every game to stop???

Dibs has a big one with the old badge and it says we will always be blue and he takes it into most away grounds I have seen I take my one to home games 10ft by 6 ft problem is I modified a Welsh one so I get abuse off some fans as the drGins in the middle but the rest of it is blue white and yellow with the old badge and a Bluebird on it

We passed a big flag around at Bournemouth. Some clubs wont allow flags over a certain size in due to fire safety regulations
Unfortunately I see our stewards finding a way to stop it happening

I've made the kickstarter page, it's just getting verified and what not then i'll post it on here and get it out there! I've got a fairly popular twitter account (@FotbalCosuel) with 1500 or so football fan followers some of which I'm sure would contribute! If we try it at every home and away game and it only gets in once and gets on TV/in papers etc then it'd be a decent success!

Here's an idea that might be worth a bit of effort, and save a few quid.
If you go to a roofing company, say Ryan's on Dumballs road you can buy very light weight nylon tarps for about £4, they are about 20x12 foot. Best thing is the tarps are blue!
If someone knew someone with a sewing machine you could fix Velcro to be two edges of every tarp so they could be stuck together. If each tarp had an image or some writing on 4 or 5 tarps would make a huge banner. Best thing is each tarp folds up small enough that they could be easily smuggled inside ground. Once inside they could be stuck together and unfurled as a massive flag, and the cost would be very cheap.

I'm contribute once it's up. Be worth it for away games too because they'd let us have it
