' Slade - Daehli Wanted To Go '

Mats Daehli was a player that Russell Slade wasn't overly struck on it appears and a Cardiff departure in January always seemed likely - this departure was confirmed ahead of Christmas, on Monday.

A £2m move to Freiburg was agreed and this deal will officially go through on January 1st.

Slade's decision to let the 19-year-old leave has drawn criticism from Cardiff supporters but he's responded by telling Wales Online that Daehli's 'heart wasn't in it' and with this opportunity to move on presenting itself it was one he wanted to take and was best for all concerned.

He said: 'Mats was looking to go.

'We had Mats' representative over here and I spoke to him. His heart probably wasn't in the club and that is a factor which is very important to me.

'He wanted to move and we found an opportunity for him. Mats wasn't playing enough minutes for us anyway and it was great chance for him to move on as well.'

Slade also said that plenty is going on behind the scenes to 'reduce numbers in the squad' and he will then be 'attempting to rebuild a bit more' in the New Year but 'the right type and quality of player' will be what he goes for.

All a nice story from Slade. Truth is that was after he lied about his injury AND said in the media that he havent had the chance to assess him. At least that's what's said I Norwegian media about Daehlis reality check on the puppet Slade. Mind you that was also after he picked his golden 11. But blame it on a young kid Slade. Builds character..

He won't be the last one wanting to leave Slade's sinking ship either. I can't wait to see the caliber of player Slade has in mind to replace those who leave.

Dhaeli clearly just wants to play football. Something he should've been doing all season for us

What's the reason for Tan wanting him gone?

Of course he wanted to go, why wouldnt he when he is being over looked behind the likes of Ralls, Kim and any defender fit.

Look at it this way.

If you were a young Welshman playing in Wales and Gary speed (r.I.p) came up to you want said I want you to play for my team. I will coach and develop you. Of course your going to say yes.

Now he gets fired and your stuck at a club without a mentor.

Of course you would want to leave.

I dont know why people are yelling at tan and slate, He didn't have to go if he didn't want to

Of course he did unless he wants to ruin his career, he has been frozen out and behind a load of average players and defenders to even make the bench.
