Player Cull!!!!!!!!

Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:21 pm

A few months ago everyone was saying our squad was too big we have trim it down, Ole had bought everyone under the sun in the Summer without much thought.
So what happens now, players who are not featured in the first team are being off-loaded, Cala, Ecrim, Ravel, and now Daeli and there will be more.
So now the usual characters on this board are calling Tan, Slade and everyone involved at the club as useless and are selling the club down the pan.
Fact 1 - we have too many players.
Fact 2 - we have to reduce what is a very high overall wage-bill.
Fact 3 - when you need to bring your number of player down from 38 to 25ish that is a lot of staff to shed.

We all knew this was going to happen, put some people just was to moan for the sake of it, get a life and wake and smell the coffee!!!!!

Everyone agrees the squad is too big but the problem is the club are getting rid of the quality rather than the players who offer a lot less!

I just hope that Slade does not replace the quality with a bus full of nobodies. One or two from the lower leagues will be fine if they can add what we need. However a bus full from the lower leagues is likely to get us towards the Division 1 Title next season! and not the Championship or Premier League. :bluescarf:

The only one I have been disappointed about is daehli. Haven't heard anyone moan about anyone else bar maybe ravel but a. That was a loan and b. he's a waster and it was never guna work. I'm welcoming the cull but when your letting the most exciting youngster at the club go it can't help but piss you off.

I would say cut it to 33 players.

Those three players didn't feature much for ole towards the end of his reign. Get rid of the chaff and keep the ones that want to play. Simples.

I'm all for a cull, but why can't we just get rid of the dross who are nowhere near the first eleven before unloading our better players because they don't fit Slade's system? I can't see Slade lasting long and when he leaves the next manager will need to start all over again recruiting better players :?

Lads the fact of the matter is that a cull needs to happen to make the sale happen. It needs to be more attractive and the only way to do that is to show less outgoings on the balance sheet
