' Cardiff still keen on January deal for Millwall defender '
CARDIFF City remain keen on a January deal for Millwall left back Scott Malone.
NewsAtDen revealed in November that Malone was on the radar of Bluebirds boss Russell Slade. Crystal Palace have also scouted the 23-year-old this season.
Blackburn were monitoring his situation too but have been placed under an embargo.
Cardiff, though, could be the first club to follow through on their interest when the transfer window opens in the New Year.
Malone's deal at The Den expires in the summer and an extension has not been discussed, so he would only command a nominal fee if he did leave.
Asked about interest in his players, Ian Holloway said: "I wish my phone was ringing off the hook because then you've got some
swaps you could make, but it certainly isn't."
On Malone, he added: "I've had a lot of thoughts about Malone, not just to do with January.
"Why did he choose that pass? That was a good one, or that was a bad one. What about his hip?
"He's trying to play through a slight problem and he's having a scan this afternoon. After he's played, it locks up and that's pretty unusual. We'll get to the bottom of it."

I'm guessing interest in Malone would add fuel to the fire of theories that Fabio is being sold in January?

City have been in desperate need for a decent left fullback for a long long time IMO , cant remember the last good one we had ? I don't rate Fabio at all sorry despite his skill and attacking qualities and Taylor wasn't up there with the best and young John is still learning .

Declan will learn f*** a** on the bench. Midfield players with energy & pace is what we need.

A left back that can defend would be a good start.

Always felt Kennedy was underrated not the best but never felt he was uncomfortable. Although he and a bulk of others bottled it v Blackpool.
Fabio has pace which our sways has precious little off. He's decent at LB a tad of a scape goat at times too but is replaceable.

Fabio is on his way by the looks i rate him as a decent player who should be performing at this level. I think super kev can still do a job for us
