Thats the problem mate since the rebrand everybody has had there own opinion on it who's right who's wrong each thinking they are right the other wrong. The result has been in house major difference of opinion and the bigger picture is a fans divide.

We have always had a difference in opinion on the pitch or other politics but never over the club colour that every fan agreed on it was a certainty ever year never open for debate.
The fact tan just did it was so abvious it was going to ruin this club.
Tan knowing nothing of football or how deaply embedded a team gets into your blood as a fan. The thing is if tan didn't no then he knows what hes created now and the disappointing thing is he doesn't do a thing about it. This club has been left to wollo in its own self pitty almost feels like a pu nishment now. He now has two options change the rebrand back or sell . The fans lessons are club must never be put in this position again we mustn't let it.

IT WAS NEVER RED OR DEAD,TAN JUST FULL OF SHIT,PEOPLE KEEP ON WE WOULD HAVE GONE BUST,BUT IF THINGS WERE REALLY THAT BAD AND TAN IS SUCH A GOOD BUSINESS MAN WHY DID HE BUY US?,I KNOW WE WERE WHISKERS AWAY FROM THE PREMIERSHIP,BUT THAT WAS 50/50,WE ALL KNOW THE MONEY PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALL BRINGS BUT,BEING A SUPPOSEDLY TOP BUSINESS MAN,HE WOULD HAVE HAD A BACK UP PLAN IF WE LOST,THAT PLAN SURELY WEREN'T THE REBRAND BECAUSE WHAT HAS THAT BROUGHT?,IT'S ONLY COST HIM

Re: Red v blue question

I respect your opinion thanks for responding. The major problem for me is the in house fighting its caused to date if we stayed red this would continue.

Basically you are asking would I choose success and money over the traditions of my club, no, if that were the case I would have supported Liverpool and Man Utd when I was a kid. I can't and never will understand people who are willing to sell out for money.

But we are still called Cardiff City aren't we. To me that is the main thing by far.

After the response on here knowing what we no now 2 years after the rebrand if the same came in now we would still be divided in are opinion which would cause the same problems as it did then and now. The conclusion for me is the rebrand should never of happened then the difference of opinions wouldn't of happened and a fans divide would of been averted

I actually did a PowerPoint Presentation in my university in Caerleon on Cardiff City, success or tradition? And every single person (no Cardiff fans, 40 people) said tradition is more important. Says it all. :bluescarf:

So brickyblue a question for you.

Do you feel divided from your fellow bluebird fans.

As an accepter of the red for the sake of our survival just what is it that you would have against me. I understand you would respect my opinion and if that's the case then OK.

How does that then turn into fans dissing, abusing and even fighting with each other.

I just can't stand all this so called pretence of in-fighting as most of it just isn't true. I sit next to pro blue and pro red and I appreciate all their viewpoinrs without thinking a jot less of them. I suspect that's how most of our fans feel so in my opinion we make far too much of this issue and it's to the detriment of the team and our support.

For what it's worth, Skewett I am 100% with you on this. Not fashionable on here, I know, but I bet plenty of others feel the same as us. But there again we are not true supporters are we. So that's 50 years of going to Ninian park gone down the drain.

Re: Red v Blue question

Unfortunately if you're not absolutely 100% against red you will get a lot of flak from a lot of people on these forums.

To those saying they put tradition above promotion etc. Yes I would agree with you. But a debt free club isn't quite as simple as selling yourself for profit.

The difference between a club which is doing OK and changing their colours to get more PROFIT and a club which changed it's colours as that was hope to be NOT RIDDLED WITH CRIPPLING DEBT is huge.

A club doing OK and selling their colours for more profit of a higher leave appearance, yes I'd agree is shameful.

But a club or fans saying "yes, ok we'll sell our colours so that we can be clear of the multi million pounds of debt we are in" I can totally understand. Especially when told if this doesn't happen we will not have investment and the club will be no more, ala Hereford United.

If cardiff city as a team are no more and have no fans (on account of not having ANY colours, players or ground... Who will remember in one hundred years that cardiff EVER played in blue?

Red and debt free? Yes please... Then the new owners can buy in sometime in the future and turn us back to blue AND debt free.

Re: Red v Blue question

Tue Dec 23, 2014 10:07 pm

When I started supporting City it was the 84/85 season with Ashurst in charge and he took us down to the 4th division.

At that time and for a few seasons before, our support had dropped like a stone and I always despised those who had walked away, just because we were crap...

I couldn't understand the mentality of supporting your local team, but turning your back on them once we were even more crap than we had been (let's be honest, we were never that good!)...

One of the reasons we had a siege mentality on the terraces especially away was because we were so awful on the pitch, it was for me, support the team and the City, regardless of the result and don't let the opposition take the p1ss out of us...

Back then if you had told me that I would ever turn my back on the club I love (loved) I would have said you were mad....

Come the 2012 season, I believed I had no choice, as much as I miss the craic and the people I used to socialise with, I still believe I did the right thing...

Which ever way you twist it, by going, you are tacitly supporting Tan and his regime by paying him your cash, unless you are only going to disrupt things, and I don't see a lot of that happening.....

One day, I hope to be back, but the longer it takes, the less I feel the connection to the club...

A fair few fans promised a riot on tans hands after Malky got sacked, just over a year and waiting.
