My Letter to Vincent Tan - update

Mon Dec 22, 2014 11:47 am

Just in case anyone wondered what happened I thought I'd post a quick update on the response to my letter.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=151017 :bluescarf:

To quickly recap I wrote to Vincent Tan at Cardiff city football club on the 30th October. I received no response or even any acknowledgement so I posted a copy of the letter on CCMB. Mike Morris made it a sticky as did Annis on here and the news story was also shared on facebook. The Echo then picked it up and posted an article on Walesonline and it also appeared in the Echo a week and a half ago. The Echo said they would also ask the club why they didn't even acknowledge the letter.

And the response from Cardiff City FC to this is.....zero/nada/zilch/ niet/rien / nothing - still no acknowledgement from them whatsoever.

Soembody did mail me and say Cardiff city is a business what do you expect but if you wrote as a loyal customer to somebody like Tesco, John Lewis, Boots etc I can assure you they would acknowledge you and reply.

To be honest I didn't expect any response from the club under its present management but you would think a simple acknowledgement and a "thank you for your letter and continued support but we can't respond to individual fans correspondence" would have been very easy to send but it seems they don't even care enough about their supporters/customers to do something that simple.

On the plus side I received numerous messages of support on both here and CCMB and on facebook. I was warned I may get one or two trolls having a go but everybody was very supportive on both boards and on facebook and it did make me hope to believe that our fractured support can one day be again reunited in our support for the club and that Cardiff fans can still stand by each other. The only "criticism" I received were a few comments to the article on Walesonline along the lines of how dare I criticise Vincent Tan after all he's done for Cardiff City and its only a colour (they obviously hadn't read my letter as I don't actually criticise Vincent Tan, I was careful not to). Still,I'm convinced the people who post on there are either club employees or associated with Tan in some way

Thanks again to all for your messages of support, they were much appreciated :bluescarf:

Any large company would certainly respond to a letter like that.

I hope that you, and then the Echo, continue with this project until you get a response. Regardless of the outcome.
Great work :thumbright: :bluescarf:

Very very disappointing that you did not get any sort of reply, however bland.
Best wishes with your illness. Get well soon.

No surprise at all DC. I'm sure there are plenty of good people at the club, but they are all terrified of upsetting the emperor for fear of the consequences. I was talking to a chap that works as part of the academy set up the other week and he said as much.
