Would not bother me.

People seem to think dropping down the league is the answer to the problem, I don't see how. We would need Tans finance even more then and it still doesn't mean we would change back to blue.

We have a stadium and infrastructure whose running costs could not possibly be met in the lower leagues. Also, while the jacks are established in the PL we will lose a generation of fans, particularly in places like PT, Neath, Bridgend and Aberdare. This will result in ever-lower crowds and drastic cost-cutting made to areas like the academy and football in the community. This downward spiral will see us becoming smaller and the Jacks growing. How many 10year old kids from Cardiff wanting to start watching football will be begging their dads to take them to Swansea v Chelsea rather than Cardiff v Hartlepool? Be careful what you wish for

Not sure dropping down the leagues achieves much. If anything we would struggle to get a new owner in Div 4. Best chance we have is to go up then hope Tan sells us.

It would be a Total disaster, whichever way you look at it. Yes...it may have its short term advantages, but, with history not on our side, we are No Norwich or Southampton. It beggars belief.

The Jacks are already years ahead of us, they are now by definition a far far bigger team (not club just yet), than we are, they will probably always be the dominant football force in South Wales from now on, we are on the other hand, what we have always been a decent league one or Championship club

By losing to two promoted teams you go down 2 divisions. Paragraph 87 section 2a

Ahhh wondered if it was that quike?

No it wouldn't. Crowds would dramatically drop and tickets wouldn't be much cheaper to this season.

Most teams our size and some bigger go up and down the divisions. It's happened to us before and it will surely happen again at some point. As disappointing as relegation it is when it happens, it has never made me want to stop supporting my team and it never would.
There is no doubt that we would lose fans, but we have built up a relatively healthy fan base and are now seen as a bigger club than we were 20 years ago, so under normal circumstances I don't think it would necessarily be a disaster.
All that would be true if it wasn't for one thing, the rebrand. At the moment we are losing the usual fans that we would when we are playing badly i.e the ones that only support the team when it's doing well, and of course we will inevitably lose more if we continue to do so, but now we have long term hardcore supporters leaving purely because of what tan has done. The difference is that these fans are not likely to just come back when the team is doing well, because that is not the reason they are leaving in the first place.
So if we are relegated we will not only lose the hardcore that are leaving because of tan, we will lose the fair-weather fans too. So it could be very bad as far as attendances go, but of course we simply don't know what tan is thinking at the moment so it's impossible to know what is coming. The downside of being owned by a rich but extremely arrogant and selfish businessman.

Your missing one big thing here and that is Tan is downsizing our infrastructure.
Regarding the kids and losing them to Swansea well it never happened in the early 80s and it has not happened this time.

I know of 4 kids who have just left the City for Swansea academy as they are a PL outfit

We used to pull in 20 to 25000 when I began following the City. Did'nt take long for that to drop to below 5000 after a couple of relegations. I think the same would happen again if we find ourselves a mid table Div 2 side.

Errrm. Let's see. Yes it would be really bad. Really really really bad. Hope that covers it for you.

I would be willing to drop to the Conference if it means we will 100% go back to blue. I can't handle feeling detached and disillusioned much longer. I'm definitely not renewing next season if things remain as they are. Tan has sucked the life out of our once proud club and I will forever hate him for it.

I don't see why people think dropping down a league would mean getting back to blue. If anything it would be even harder to find a new buyer.
