' Consistency the key '
The Bluebirds have the ability to match anybody in the Championship and at times they have shown that, But why does it seem impossible to maintain the intensity of performance needed to gain and maintain the upper hand over 90 minutes?
Russell Slade’s men can achieve the levels needed for 10 or 20 minutes, but they fade both individually and as a team. Why do City players switch off?
Bournemouth and Brentford are both strong teams and the only way to take them on is to start fast and keep going for 90 minutes. City failed to do that in either match and were made to pay for their carelessness and lack of consistent intensity.
It’s a problem Slade and his players must address. They have the chance of a new start in 2015 when players who are currently surplus to requirements will hopefully move on and find regular football elsewhere.
There could be a couple of additions and at that stage Slade and his squad must push on and finish the season on a high.
Right now it looks highly unlikely that City can challenge the top group, but surely 2015 must be a better year for the Bluebirds.
