When is Adam Le Fondre going to score?
The hard-working striker is still fairly popular among fans but his luck in front of goal is shocking.
Having scored a hatful of goals at previous clubs Reading and Rotherham, Le Fondre came to Cardiff looking to enhance his reputation and Russell Slade has really backed him.
But every time he gets a sight of goal his desperation is obvious to all.
He should have scored in the first half and could have scored in the second but he’s well short of the striker Cardiff City thought they’d bought last summer.
Moan of the match
The players had admitted in the build-up that they had to raise the fans’ spirits after a tough week but they thoroughly deserved the boos they got at half time.
The second half saw plenty of bottle and the fans who remained in the stadium warmed to that and got behind them and the grandstand finale grew closer.
Had they shown the same desire at 1-0 down, this could have been very different and nobody would have left, or even jeered.
The players are the ones being paid big money to be there and it’s down to them to make those turning out week after week proud of them.

carl,i think he would struggle to score in a thai brothel....but just my opinion...

We have a team full of Jaffas

Strikers are going to struggle because the midfield is so stupidly over run. The strikers have no service so the only thing le Fondre can do is run about like a headless chicken.
Jones pure strength gets him goals but it's sad that all we can hope for.
Start of the season I expected Le Fondre and Macheda to be super subs with Guerra and Jones as the lone front man.

When he gets decent service. He's having to drop to the half way line or he doesn't get the ball. If he does it's a long ball to his head against 6ft 3 defenders. Which cost us the second goal. Plus he has to do the running of 2 players when alongside Macheda

He really is terrible. I have kept saying next game he will bag a few but that game never comes.
Yesterday i was speechless at the sitter he missed.

I don't always agree with your posts but you are bang on the money, witts and gunnars have been goo servants but I believe they are both in the comfort zone and maybe need a fresh challenge, they are also struggling as centre mid 2. It just isn't happening for le fondre.

I agree with centre 2. They don't have the work rate to match up to the other teams set ups and get over run. We are carrying these players and we def need new blood in the engine room?

Its painful watching him at the moment

when the feck is he leaving??????????????????????????????????????

Le Fondre is not popular with the fans where I sit, or with the fans I talk to after the match. He has been given enough games now and needs to be dropped.I would have Jones or Guerra up front with an additional midfielder in the team.
Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:13 pm
He needs to be dropped along with macheda. Front 2 of Jones and guerra but wr know that won't happen. Le fondre will start scoring when he leaves us in the summer
Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:16 pm
I've got more chance of scoring with Nicole Scherzinger.
Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:16 pm
His confidence is shot to pieces. I personally think he does more for the team than anyone else on the pitch, but when it comes to scoring, he's just got zero confidence now. And I don't know if that's because of Ole, or just cos the guy is bloody knackered by time he gets in front of goal.
He's a goal scorer, and I've been watching him for several years now. But right now is all about confidence, and he's literally got none.

Maybe good to drop him to bench for game or 2 put him back in for Colchester in fa cup hopefully get 1 against them to give him bit of confidence

Carlos see:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=151771I have said it all season, I think LeFondre is awful. I could go on the pitch and run around looking busy for 90mins, there's been a massive love-in for old Alfie but he's paid a fortune to create and score goals, he does neither. Yesterday he missed two from 3 yards... how much is in on a week to do that?
Also, watch the finishing practice before the game... Grim! Only Whitts and Gunnarson can finish, they are normally 50 yards from goal when we attack.
I also think Whitts has to move out wide if we're playing a 4 and should play the advanced role in the 5.

Both him and macheda scored a lot as subs at previous clubs.
Even at reading a lot of le fondres goal came as a sub.
I don't think they have enough to their all around game to create a lot. Additionally none of them scores goals.
I would play 5 in midfield with jones as a lone striker. Strengthen central midfield with adeyemi and add a more mercurial creator, ravel or daehli. Use le fondre as a super sub, that was what he was known for. Think his strength lies there.I

GUERRA! Oh sorry he upset Scott Young and is in the book, once you're in the book you've had it.
I'd play be radical and try something new, Manga is great on the ball and I'd try sitting him in front of the back four...
Marshall
Fabio Turner Morrison Brayford
Manga
Noone Whitts Adyemi Harris
Jones

I would drop noone. Push whitts out wide, where he had his best season. Play daehli or guerra behind jones. They can open up defences, create in open play, whitts is our best crosser of the ball. Everyone playing to their strengths.
Yeah, not gonna happen, but I can dream.

Guerra and daehli are goners,i dread to think who slade brings in in january

same as me (I put money on Jones and Guerra to be top goal scorers

) Slade needs to change formation, maybe 352 (with Fabio/Brayford as WingBacks

at the moment he can't hit a cows arse with a banjo. he didnt even score when the keeper stopped playing after he was offside.
it seems to be just low confidence, he's thinking about the finishes too much instead of just drilling it in the net.
Sun Dec 21, 2014 11:32 pm
He's had plenty of easy chances and has fucked them all up Natural born finisher my arse!
Need to get a new striker in jan someone to partner jones. As as Alf and Macheda are complete shite!

look at le fondre's record. he is a proven championship goalscorer, he's just in a run of poor form.
but how long can we keep letting him miss easy chances? we're losing points.
macheda has ability he just needs to work harder. but it can be difficult motivating arrogant young players who are earning big money. maybe a spell on the sidelines could get the hunger back for him
