" Did the changes work? "
In the wake of the Bournemouth horror-show Fabio came in for Matt Connolly, Bruno Manga for Sean Morrison, Kadeem Harris for Kim Bo-Kyung and Macheda replaced Jones.
On the whole it didn’t work. Fabio, who looked brilliant a few months ago, seemed completely devoid of confidence and would surely have suffered nightmares about Spaniard Jota.
Macheda was mostly ineffective alongside Adam Le Fondre and was upstaged by Jones, who showed strength, hunger and desire after replacing him.
Manga was OK but guilty of playing several wayward passes out of defence while Harris was the only shining light, setting up Craig Noone’s goal and causing his former club plenty of problems in the second half.
" Where do Cardiff go from here? "
Despite all the doom and gloom Russell Slade’s men are only eight points off the play-offs and teams have been promoted from worse positions than this in the past.
On Boxing Day they play a Charlton team with an identical record to them and a win could catapult them back into the reckoning with sixth placed Watford coming up two days later.
Two wins and the door is open for a new year run to the top six. Anything but six points and the club can start preparing for another year in the Championship.

How far off are some of the development squad to breaking into the first team?
I hear one or two are worthy of a go. Harris seems to have gone pass all the first teamer's so so why not try some others. Could be interesting.

It doesn't matter what changes he makes personnel wise, he still sticks to the same set up and system... The game plan remains the same with just like for like players filling in...
I've never felt so ashamed and embarrassed by that first half yesterday... The last 3 games we have taken 1 pt from Rotherham, Bournemouth and Brentford, conceding 8 goals!,
Slade is a decent guy, but anyone can see he is not cut out for this level. Way out of his depth! Tactically clueless and only going to take us one way! Down...

yes annis they did, with original strike partnership we were never going to get a goal....and simply put we need someone who can find the net and also a midfielder who can dominate ...owwwwww and a new captain...

In my opinion the changes made did'nt really improve the team because there was no change of system. If you look at individuals Harris was no doubt a big improvement on Kim and for me Fabio at LB and Brayford at RB was an improvement, but Macheda was a big step backwards.
In fairness to RS he did change the system from a rigid 4-4-2 to a diamond shape 4-4-2 with Harris at the front of the diamond and Whitts more to the left side and, in my opinion, that helped turn the tide and started to get us into the game. When Jones arrived he was a massive improvement on Macheda and I was left thinking "What If" that change had been made at halftime, but we will never know.
No club in the last 10 years has won automatic promotion having won 30 points after 22 games so history tells us that gone for this season. Over the last 10 years clubs need an average of 34 points after 23 games to reach the playoffs, but if we lose at Charlton even 5th or 6th place will look like a pipedream.
In my opinion we now need to start planning for another season in the Championship and continue the process of offloading the high earning players and get some young, hungry and above all else athletic players in to start the rebuilding process. It may well be a few years before we start making a sustained challenge at the top end of this League again.

Le Fondre and Macheda should not have even started yesterday. Neither of them deserve to be anywhere near the 1st team. Another midfield player was needed yesterday but Slade and Young could not see that. Substitutions made too late and only 2 out of the 3 subs were used.
