How Come?

Adam Le Fondre can play game after game without doing anything, yet Nicky Maynard - who I feel is much better than Fondre, in goal scoring and overall play - and Javi Guerra - who In my opinion is the best striker that we have at the club by miles - cannot even get on the bench? Even if the reason is because they are both high earners and they are wanted off the wage bill? Surely, while we are paying their wages and because of the transfer window being closed and they cannot be sold at the moment, we should at least try and get some use out of them and include them in our squad until they can be sold. Then if they both start doing well for us and scoring goals then it may be a lot easier getting rid of them in January as they would have be in form. I think that the both of them have been treated terribly by the owners and management teams of this club and in my opinion are a much better partnership than Le Fondre and Macheda. Yes, Le Fondre works hard but at the end of the day strikers are based on the amount of goals that they score and he has been extremely poor in front of goal for us and then Macheda, even though he has scored slightly more goals than Le Fondre, has been overall even worse. Yes, Maynard has had a handful of chances but nowhere near enough and he did not score but he would have a 2 or 3 game run as a starter but then would find himself out of the squad. So obviously his confidence is low too. I think that if Maybard was given the same amount of games in a row as Le Fondre has had, then Maynard I feel would definitely start scoring the goals regularly again. It just baffles me that goal scorers of the calibre of Guerra and Maynard cannot even get into the match day squad but Le Fondre and Macheda play week in and week out.

The tactics need to change too but we know Slade only plays 442. However, if we are to play 4-4-2 every week then we have to play the midfield four in a diamond shape. Then we would have to sign a defensive midfielder and play him at the bottom of the diamond. Then I think we should give Adeyemi a run in the side as one of the two central midfielders in the diamond. Then we need to sign another central midfielder that offers us more than what Peter Whittingham does, as he just does not put himself about for my liking. The player that I think should be at the top of the diamond formation as the attacking midfielder, should without a shadow of a doubt be, Mats Daehli. As this is his best position, just behind the two strikers as the Number 10 and I think he would run the show in this position. However, that will never happen as UNBELIEVABLY for some strange reason Russell Slade does not rate him and he will in my opinion be sold in January. Which will be a travesty and it will some day come back and haunt us. If he does go, then I would not sell him for anything less than £5m, including a 30% plus sell on clause. I still can't believe we did not demand this when we sold Aaron Ramsey to Arsenal. Which will also come back and haunt us because I have a horrible feeling that within the next two years, I predict that Aaron Ramsey will be sold to either Barcelona or Real Madrid for £30m plus. God I hope that never happens for our sakes. Although, if he does go then I hope that it is on a free transfer as he was out of contract at Arsenal. If Daehli does go, then I would play Kadeem Harris in that position as I think he could be brilliant for us, starting from the Middle. Then I feel we need to buy two quality strikers in January too, as I don't think we can rely on Kenwyne scoring all the goals for us, because Le Fondre and Macheda certainly won't. That's just the midfield and striker positions that we need new players in, I haven't even mentioned the defence yet. To keep it short we definitely need a new left back, as I think Fabio will be sold in January too. Even with Fabio I still think we needed another left back as Fabio has not got anybody else challenging him for the left back birth, as we haven't got an out and out left back currently at the club, so that is one position that needs strengthening in defence but I also feel that we need one more central defender and the new centre half MUST have pace, as I feel we get caught far too many times at the back when pacey strikers play on the shoulders of Turner and Morrison. I think a big, fast, strong, committed centre half is desperately what we need. Then I would pair the pacey new centre half with Bruno Ecuele Manga, if he is still here come the start of February. As i wouldn't be that surprised if a Premier League club came in for him in January as he is a class act and he deserves to be playing at the highest level. Just like with Daehli I would not sell Manga on the cheap. I would ask for at least £8m-£10m for him, plus add ons. Especially, when we paid £5m plus for him. If nobody wants to pay that for him, then great, I would be very relieved and thankful that he would still be an important City player.

Bloooooobirds.

PS: Slade is not the man to take us up, he is more likely to take us the other way. In my opinion. The future looks bleak with Slade in charge and Young as his assistant.
