' Joe Mason Set For Cardiff City return? '
Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon will have a decision to make along with Joe Mason and the manager of his loan club Cardiff City, Russell Slade who was looking forward to watching the progress of 23 year old Mason.
Speaking about players out on loan from Cardiff, ex-Leyton Orient boss Slade said 'I am, in particular, keen to see how Joe Mason is going at Bolton.'
Mason is in his third loan spell at Bolton, having been signed by former Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman on all three occassions. His first spell with the Macron Stadium outfit was the least successful- he managed just 1 goal in 8 games. Since then he's scored 9 in 23 appearances, however he's fallen out of favour with new boss Neil Lennon ever since the 43 year old arrived from Celtic.
Lennon looked set to give Mason his first start last Saturday since Bolton's 3-1 win over Brentford. However, it was later revealed that he had sustained a serious injury earlier on during the week in training.
Neil Lennon had the following to say, regarding Joe Mason's short term future 'We'll speak to Cardiff about the situation as it looks like he'll be out for a while.
'At this moment we're looking at between six and eight weeks, so we'll see how things develop and take it from there.'
