Who would you support?

Mon Dec 15, 2014 11:31 pm

With the recent campaign of #NoBlueNoRenew and these proposed stadium changed, I'm wondering whether current supporters who are thinking of not renewing will fill their saturdays with following another team more closely, possibly a lower league team etc?
Although most teams with in reasonable distance of Cardiff are classed as rivals, would anyone buy a Newport County season ticket to make up for the lack of live football or maybe even Barry Town or another Welsh League Team?
Personally as much as I hate everything thats happened over the last 2 or so years and how physically sick it makes me feel, I just cannot turn my back on my club and will continue to buy season ticket after season ticket regardless of the changes.

I will NOT support another team, what is the point of that, you may aswell keep supporting the franchise that is Cardiff City as it has turned into another club anyway :( I will fill my Saturdays spending more time with my children and grandchildren

If I choose not to renew for next season I'll just follow the club away.

Sorry don't get this post at all, yes maybe local Village team. I had a soft spot for Chelsea went to a few games years ago but soon realised if they won lost or drew I didn't really care, a goal was nothing exciting. No love or passion for any team other than the bluebirds, Wales to a lesser degree.

Only one team for me :bluescarf:

The way you described Chelsea is the way I've come to feel about Cardiff City. I'm confident that when this is all over, I will get the passion back, but there's no point in trying to hide the fact I have hated every minute of tan's rule and will not renew next season

Am not quite at that stage just yet and hope that does not happen but my feelings are changing and am seriously debating renewing unless things change. I won't give up though, will see it through. :bluescarf:

Swansea for me.

Great passionate fans, a brand of football that's pleasing on the eye and of course the all important Premier League football.

And a lovely white kit, just like us on Saturday!

I could never support anyone else. Despite all that is going on I still love CCFC and have a great time with my mates and my son and his mates. Like Gwentbluebirds says it's time we won't get back.

If City went bust I'd do whatever I could to help resurrect the club. If it disappeared completely with no hope of reforming in the English leagues it would break my heart and I dont know if I would bother with the game over here, depends on my son and mates, maybe go to some new grounds or watch a few games abroad, but withou City it would be meaningless to me .

Totally agree with this,I can't see me renewing my ST,not looking forward to Saturday or any other game for that matter,Tan is really ripping the heart out of our club, wish he'd f**k off back to Malaysia

I watch Carmarthen Town when there's no clash with CCFC. Saw their game against Connah's Quay a few weeks ago, and enjoyed it.

As I've spent a fair bit of time in Italy over the years, (Rome mainly), I follow S.S. Lazio from a distance. Been to their games quite a bit. Their Ultra are the real thing, and I've seen real boycotts and protests against the owner, but Claudio Lotito is still there. At least he's a football man, and a genuine fan of the club.

The Nearest club to us that I've got a soft spot for is the Gas.

Nobody could replace CCFC, though. I'm actually looking forward to Saturday's game. Is that allowed? :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

If I don't renew my season ticket, which is unlikely, I'll become a club member and go to more away games. I'll always follow the games on tv or radio, but I'll never support another team.

Stopped going since the rebrand and ever since I save and do a Real Madrid game every now and then out of the money which a typical Saturday afternoon used to cost me. The saving also was put towards holidays and tickets for Silverstone Grand Prix.

Personally I don't know why people are so scared of no football on a Saturday afternoon because football in this country has gone anyway.

I think the main point in not renewing is to not give the club anymore money and our home support.
