' KADEEM HARRIS '
Mixed Emotions For Kadeem Harris Following Bournemouth
Monday 15th Dec 2014
Winger Kadeem Harris was obviously delighted to have made his senior Cardiff bow in the game against Bournemouth but he was obviously disappointed to have come out on the wrong end of a eight goal thriller.
The former Wycombe Wanderers man was making his club debut, and had spent the first part of last season out on loan with our next opponents Brentford before suffering an injury that kept him out for the rest of the season.
Having returned to fitness over the summer and signed a contract extension with us earlier this month, signing on until the summer of 2017, he explained to the Official Site that to have now come off the bench to make his debut had left him very happy, but he was obviously disappointed to not see us pick up any points from the game.
'I'm delighted to make my debut, it's just unfortunate that the result hasn't topped off a great day for me. Hopefully I can get more appearances and be a part of more wins. As soon as the new manager came in, he's shown a lot of faith in me. I'm over the moon with that, so hopefully now I can repay him in many ways and keep putting in performances and offering a lot to the team. Hopefully my appearance wasn't a one off.'
Harris went on to say that he felt the overall team performance in the second half was a lot more positive than it had been in the first period, and everybody was 'disappointed' at us conceding the other two goals against them as although Bournemouth are a good side, the team know we should've dealt with them better on the day, but being a touch philosophical about things he added.
'We'll get weekends like this, where we're playing against difficult opposition, but in the future it's these games that we want to get the result in. It was a great game for the spectators, who got to see eight goals. We want our games to be good to watch, but we can't go conceding five again, we have to tighten up.

Kadeem Harris has thanked Russell Slade for keeping the faith with him after making his Cardiff bow.

The former Wycombe winger has endured an injury-hit last year but Slade, who gave him a new deal until 2017 recently, handed Harris his Cardiff debut at half-time of their 5-3 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday. "As soon as the new manager came in, he's shown a lot of faith in me," he told the club's official website. "I'm over the moon with that, so hopefully now I can repay him in many ways and keep putting in performances and offering a lot to the team. Hopefully my appearance wasn't a one-off. "Hopefully I can stay fit and do a lot more for Cardiff City. The gaffer has shown faith in me, and it's down to me now to impress, train and keep working hard on improving my game. I'm sure if I do that in the future, I'll play a lot more."
