' Kadeem Harris Delighted '

Cardiff City winger Kadeem Harris was disappointed with the result but delighted to come into the fold after he made his Bluebirds league debut in the 5-3 defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

The former Wycombe Wanderers player spent the first part of last season on loan at next week’s opponents Brentford before sustaining an injury which would side-line him from the remainder of the campaign. Having shaken off that injury, and having signed a contract extension earlier this month to keep him at the Club until 2017, he came off the bench this weekend to represent City in the league for the first time, and was thrilled with the experience.

“I’m delighted to make my debut,” Harris said. “It’s just unfortunate that the result hasn’t topped off a great day for me. Hopefully I can get more appearances and be a part of more wins.

“As soon as the new manager came in, he’s shown a lot of faith in me. I’m over the moon with that, so hopefully now I can repay him in many ways and keep putting in performances and offering a lot to the team. Hopefully my appearance today wasn’t a one-off.

“I think the whole team was a lot more positive in the second half, it’s just disappointing and so unfortunate that we conceded another two goals. Bournemouth are a good side, and they showed against us why they are top of the league. We’ll get weekends like this, where we’re playing against difficult opposition, but in the future it’s in these games that we want to get the results. It was a great game for the spectators, who got to see eight goals.

“We want our games to be good to watch, but we can’t go conceding five goals again, we have to tighten up. We scored three goals away from home against a good side, and if we keep doing that, attacking and scoring goals like we did, there’ll be a lot of good results in our future. I’m sure the team will bounce back.

“It was very disappointing to pick up the injury when I did. I played the first half of last season at Brentford, and we were doing quite well, but then the injury set me back for the rest of the season. I’m delighted to get back playing, and hopefully I can stay fit and do a lot more for Cardiff City. The Gaffer has shown faith in me, and it’s down to me now to impress, train and keep working hard on improving my game. I’m sure if I do that in the future, I’ll play a lot more.”

Hope he gets a run in the team. He seems like just the type of player we need - young, energetic & full of potential just like Daehli who Slade is wasting.

The one redeeming feature of yesterday's game.

Well done Kadeem!

Makes sense and about time.

I've never got my head around how when Noone was in the development team Kadeem Harris made him look like the understudy several times, yet has never been near the first team

What are you on about now? Are you slades mum or something? :laughing6:
Slade doesn't like young players. He literally sidelined every young player in the squad. He goes with the more experienced journeyman.

Been knocking on the door for too long, his DVP games have been nothing short of quality.
