big earners off wage bill, investment cut is this the end?

Sun Dec 14, 2014 11:20 am

Tan can't win and has had his Image torn by the media, he's distanced himself from the club.

Slades been brought in assumably to deal with what we'll be left with a dog fight, tans only willing to go back
to the premiership on a thread of investment otherwise we'd have a top manager and the bankroll would sustain another season
like QPR did.

How does he leave and what happens here?

Do we take destruction and start over go back to being minnows?

From what I can see going on this is just a low investment gamble the last spin of the roulette wheel after taking a huge loss, low chance of success trying to claw back everything a huge chance of losing everything

I think he is going to balance the book so we are a self sufficient club aka Swansea style.

Tan is not impressed with the agent culture within football hence why he is looking at the Swansea model. Unless Slade pulls off a miracle and gets us promoted I think Tan will be around for a couple more seasons taking the parachute payments. We will mid table championship club for this time if we are lucky. Once everything balances out Tan will sell.

Quite frustrating going backwards, theirs always that lottery of sneaking in the play offs and nicking a shot at it I see that as our only chance of promotion now for a while

Well yes that is still a possibility.

If we do go up then it becomes a different situation. Tan might just get the price he wants.

Pretty certain Tan cant syphon off any of the parachute payments as is conditiional to be used to to bed any relegated team from the Premiership back into a the Champinship bringing a degree of financial stability from the fallout of relegation and pre-empted large wage bills, T V money, etc think i would go against the terms laid out when be dolled out by the FA ?.
To a degree we were lucky in the sense we got back the transfer fees paid out for the likes of Mutch,Caulker, and Medel and although we have still have high earners we are nowhere near as unfortunate as Wolves, Portsmouth, QPR whos top earners were on much higher salaries than our players and would not budge with some employess willing to hang around in the reserves and let their contracts run down.

Our big financial headach is the dept before Tan arrived who that will play out i have not got a clue  .
