Slade & Young's Xmas book review

Sat Dec 13, 2014 10:13 pm

Slade & Young Christmas book out next week :thumbright: 'Blame it on your scapegoats'

Chapter 1: an introduction into how even the bestist management team can buckle under pressure, pick players out of position, tips on bestist ways to make up fake stories about players being injured due to restrictions.

Chapter 2: Dealing with the press, how to handle criticism of your tactics - An extract from it read, 'let the press and your club supporters know you play the same way as the European Champions' :notworthy: a sure fire way to get the fans and press on your side.

Chapter 3: Training techniques, how to bore the opposition into thinking your rubbish, then to spring an offensive manoeuvre by getting more than 1 person around a big person upfront after you've lumped it back-to-front the whole game. This chapter has Young telling aspiring coaches to forget about practicing possession based football drills as it's outdated.

Chapter 4: The most revealing secret is how to blame the players for you selections. An extract read - 'By picking players we both agree are useless, it gives us the opportunity to haul them off when we are losing.' It goes on to give advice, 'if you are managing a parks football team, don't be afraid to have a player in your team that can utilised for shifting blame away from yourself, shitter the better.'

I thought the book was a really good read, loved the honesty :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
