RUSSELL SLADE PRESS CONFERENCE THIS MORNING
Friday 12th Dec 2014

Russell Slade on Manga
Has trained last two days and travels. There are question marks on match fitness, but he is in a 20 man squad. He is available. Long time since he played.
He is well aware that our defence has done well and that he hasn't had any games for a wile. Pleased he is back. Part of our group.
Really pleased with defensive platform we have set. It's just about getting balance right. It was important to tighten up.

Injuries
Pilkington is out plus one or two little issues and we won't know until later today. Nothing major, but we will assess those later.
Keep those to myself. Eddie is my mate, but I am not going to reveal everything and help him.

BREAKING NEWS: Slade dispels Anthony Stokes link
No truth in those links. Nothing.

Slade on Bournemouth quality
The Bournemouth group have been together for a long period now, punching above their weight and know each other well.
Has not surprised me personally they are up there, but they are there to be knocked down as well.
We will prepare as if we are going to win and go from there.
I have known Eddie for a long period. We talk football quite a bit, talk about players and it’s partly my fault for recommending Wilson to him. He took him and Callum has done fantastic for him.

On Cardiff City form
As a group we have set ourselves short-term targets and in some ways this spell could define our season. It could. We have no fear going to the likes of Bournemouth, Watford. We know we are capable.
We are unbeaten in four and we want to extend that. When you are on a run it’s important to do everything possible to keep it going.
Vitally important we pick up points. We didn’t start season well and are coming from a position off the pace.

What would you like for Xmas?
A few new signings would be nice - and an outdoor Christmas tree. We have a number indoors and my wife has given me a mission to get an outdoor Christmas tree. I will be doing that over the next few days.
My trees at home are decorated - plenty of colour.

On the size of Cardiff City's squad and inside info on Bournemouth...
We have more options, Bruno is back, Pilks on way back. He is due back in training after December 17 and that is ahead of time. That is a bonus. He won’t be ready to play, but he will be in training and it won’t take long.
We lost v Bournemouth in the League Cup, but I wasn’t here. We lost 3-0, one or two players were given an opportunity and did not impress. We are a different prospect now. I didn’t watch that cup game.
I know Bournemouth’s back four and have worked with them. Overall their work ethic and energy are their key components and know each other well.
Really good awareness and have good partnerships in the team.
Any information of knowledge of opposition is welcome.

Slade has confirmed Jo Inge Berget will be back from Celtic in January.
