' Celtic manager Ronny Deila says that Cardiff City-linked striker Anthony Stokes is not for sale in the January transfer '
Celtic manager Ronny Deila has insisted that he has no plans to let go of Anthony Stokes anytime soon.
The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international is reportedly on the radar of Championship outfit Cardiff City.
"Yes, of course," BBC Scotland quotes Deila as saying when asked if he wanted to keep Stokes at Celtic Park.
"He has played well and was the match winner in the last game, so Stokesey is in our future. I'm happy that people are talking about our players because then they are performing well.
"It is not the first one and is not going to be the last before the window closes. Our goal is to have a better team on 1 February than we have right now."
Stokes has been on the books of Celtic since 2010 and has established himself as a key player in Deila’s team.
The 26-year-old is not exactly a prolific striker, but he has played down the left-wing this season and seems to be enjoying his new role.
