' Cardiff City midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi insists he WILL be fit before end of Championship season '

Russell Slade had said Dikgacoi would likely miss the rest of the campaign following a spate of muscle injuries but he has responded saying: 'I’m not out for the season'

Cardiff City enforcer Kagisho Dikgacoi is defying talk of missing the whole of the Bluebirds’ season and insisting he will be fit again as early as February.

Since his arrival from Crystal Palace in the summer, the 30-year-old has been hit with a spate of muscle injuries and also has a hamstring problem, meaning he has made just two Championship appearances and one Capital One Cup start for his new club.

Cardiff manager Russell Slade recently confirmed the South African international could have recovered by February, but insisted that with his lack of pitch time his road to recovery might stretch through to the start of next season.

Dikgacoi himself, however, has revealed he will not miss the entire Bluebirds campaign.

He commented: “I’m not out for the season, I should be able to get back to training at some point in February.”

The comments will be welcomed by Slade who is currently plotting his side’s Championship promotion push and who was giving up hope that Dikgacoi would pull on a Cardiff shirt again this season.

“The earliest we expect him back training in the group will be February and from that stage we need to start building up on his match fitness,” said Slade recently.

“That can’t be rushed and we’ll see how he progresses, but it may be that he needs to build towards a full return and then go through the full pre-season work next summer.”

The midfielder’s fighting talk will come as a boost to the Bluebirds as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

They currently lie ninth in the Championship table, just two points off the play-off places, with a tough trip to Bournemouth next up for Slade and his men on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Bluebirds have moved to distance themselves from reports linking them with a £1.5m move for Celtic striker Anthony Stokes in the January transfer window. Sources at the club insist Stokes is not on Slade’s wish-list next month.

Slade has made it quite clear he wont feature imo. Even if dikgachoi is fit enough to play i dont think slade will play him anyway.
Plus he got a bit of quality about him and slade dosent seem to like this type of player, hes probably a decent trainer in training but because he dosent run through brick walls in training slade prob overlooks quality because of this and this is why we can forget about dikgachoi playing for ccfc prob get fed up of getting left out by slade like a lot of other players here

the guys career is over.
he doesn't look after himself his best days are behind him hes overweight unfit and to old to regain his peak.
even the likes of
maynard who was very athletic show the consequences of not looking after yourself when injured and when playing.
