How much to buy CCFC off Tan?

Tue Dec 09, 2014 9:20 pm

Let's face it. The club is dying.

If we boycott.
(As 1000,s of us are unnofficially are already)

Would tan sell the club to the fans for a nominal fee?
He may be a good businessman in other areas, but in football he has been a disaster for the long term future of this club
The man is gambling with our club.

Now he states he is an honourable man.
If we could raise say 50 or 100 million to invest in the club.
Would he sell to us for a nominal £1?

He could come out of this as with dignity.

As it is, he has taken the heart and soul out of this club and it may take decades to replace.

Could a fund be developed to do this?
I would put in a months money to any fund to do this. Or put your next season ST money into it. If 40000 did this, there could be some fund!

He wants £80m. According to my accountant who follows the football teams a starting line for us would be £40m. With the parachute payments that is a price at which Tan could sell us for. Of course there are other things that are considered but when he tried to explain to me how it all work I fell asleep.

Everything is for sale if the price is right.

No Steve the fans won't own the club unless admin happens and that is not going to happen.

However a price of £40m could see a new owner.

may be but our fan base could not get any where near that kind of money :bluescarf:

Thanks.

Say 40 million is the honourable mans price. We would need probably 2 seasons running costs as working capital.

Would 20 million a season cover this once we get rid of the last few of very high earners?

That is 80 million ( before sales and merchandising etc)

15,000 season tickets at say £400 each is £6,000,000

I have talked to quite a few who would put in between £1' 000 and £5,000 into the kitty too.

I think we could get £20,000,000 together as we are now but funding really needs endorsement from big names, big businessmen, sport and TV stars etc, maybe even uk wide FST campaign. (FST- For a pledge an away fan gets free ticket when they play us in a future game at CCS)

Who would lead it?

I reckon if I saved hard and forfeited holidays and buying crap I don't need. I could put in £2000.

If 10,000 did this..... :bluescarf:

We need a club to be proud of.
For my kids and their kids too.

I'd hate to think that when we look back to this in the future, when people say why didn't we do anything and why 1 man can do this and regret that we didn't do anything.

I know it's different to Wimbledon and Pompey and Newport etc but we have a far bigger fan base than all of them.

he'd probably want £100m plus for the club.

What about ongoing costs, staff wages, rates, electric, gas, water etc etc ? :sleepy2:

people are living a fantasy if they think they'd be able to raise the money to buy CCFC out in a fans takeover.

we need tan to sell to a owner with the clubs best interests at heart. owners like that are few and far between. the problem is we could get the next incarnation of the glazers, and as long as they turn the club back to blue, they would get full support from the fans.

I love this club but I'm not sacrificing my quality of life to see £2000 of my hard earned money to get swallowed up. I've read our club has over £1000000 a month out goings. How would you propose to deal with that?

If it became a fan owned club that would drop dramatically. We would behaving lower league players and not any of these journeymen on high wages.

And how would you afford the upkeep of the stadium ? Fancy a move to Jenner Park

and with that, a commensurately lower league positioning. the reality is that if we had to slash monthly outgoings and be self sufficient, we'd drop down the league like a stone. all the while having fans squabbling and whining at every single decision made by the manager or the chief executive as its their money on the line.

the same people would then be on here saying it was a terrible idea after all.

I think people are forgetting how much per month Tan supplements the finances.

Not only would a fan consortium need to find the money to buy tan out, they need access to instant cash to keep the club afloat, as i was in the line of thought that the club is still heavily self funded by Tan for running costs.

Steve Borley is looking into a consortium to buy Tan out....true. :ayatollah:

And whose fault is that.

Hence why I said above a fan owned club would get rid of what we have now and take on lower league players. At first the club would be used as a stepping stone for footballers aiming for higher things.
