If you play daehli and Morrison sort of wingers there should be a lot of crosses so may suit jones ?

I felt Ole could have got us playing well under this formation, bit more solid defensively and the wingbacks who would give us width.

Sadly your all wasting your time unless your going to post up a team in a 4-4-2.

Agreed, I'm a huge fan of this system as it gives us an extra man in the middle. With the added fact we have 3 excellent centre backs in Turner, Manga and Connolly with Turner's left foot giving nice balance, plus a pick of Brayford, Fabio and John who are all more suited as a wing back than a full back imo, it's a system I would use immediately.

The system gives us so much flexibility compared to the rigid 4-4-2. Obviously we could have 2 up front, but away from home I would choose one of Daehli, Ravel, Kim or even Noone, Pilkington or Burgstaller to play in a free role just behind the striker. For home games we could be a bit more adventurous and even get away with playing one of Daehli, Ravel, Kim etc in the middle 3 alongside Whittingham and Gunnarsson.

I think we would play much better football with this system as the system allows us to accomodate the likes of Daehli more easily and the system allows us to use players with more flair and technical ability with a solid back 3 and holding midfielder behind them. The football would be so much more fluid and creative with this system imo. We would be a little more exposed out wide if the opposition did get behind our wing backs on the counter attack, but we would still have the 3 centre backs to deal with the crosses.

But you're right, it looks like 4-4-2 will be the way forward under Slade with the occasional 4-4-1-1 now and again when Slade feels really daring.
