What hacked me off

Mon Dec 08, 2014 11:16 pm

Was not virtually an unchanged side. It was the fact that Slade never changed it all after 60 minutes. It was clear that Rotherham with their 5 in midfield won all the second ball. Primarily this was because Jones was so ineffective. So we needed to change and take it to them. Had Kimbo come off and been replaced by Daelhi and then Morrisdon replace Jones playing just behind Le Fondre, our formation would have forced Rotherham to change and then we would have been calling the shots. It's not rocket science us it!

Spot on, I was calling exactly that on 60 minutes :ayatollah:

Has Slade a plan B?

We played a team near the bottom of the table at home and 3 of our best creative players were sat on there arse on the bench again. Then as in the last few games he brings 1 or 2 on for the last 15 mins or so.
That IMO is his only game plan and will probably get worse after the January transfer window.

Totally agree, we were being over run in the middle of the park and it needed an extra man in there to help out!! Why are fans seeing little things like this but the managment can't?

To be honest if I was in charge the first day back in training after that game they would be practising passing and receiving the ball!!!!

I said the same after the game, it was screaming for a player like Daehli and or Morrison, someone who would get the ball, move with the ball and make things happen. To me it made so much sense to take off a striker and bring one of those on, while shoring up the midfield as well.

The subs with a few mins to go was pathetic.

What hacks me off is he plays Brayford and Connolly out of position then changes at the end by bringing Fabio on and putting Brayford back in his natural position! It's a waste of a sub imo , I think you should only change defenders if they are injured (or having a nightmare)

Everyone around me was saying exactly the same. Most expected a sub or change of shape at half-time but he didn't even tell the subs to warm up until the 60 minute mark, when it had been clear we were being over run in midfield since kick off. It was also clear that hoofing the ball long to Le Fondre wasn't working and we needed a player who could play between the lines, beat a man, link up play and put Rotherham on the back foot. On the bench he had Daehli and Morrison, two of the best players in the league at doing this, yet he ignored Daehli completely and only gave Morrison five minutes. I was also baffled at Kimbo playing the full 90 when he hasn't played a full game at this level all season! Bizarre!

He seems to be one of those managers who has a standard sub he likes to do every game, probably around the same time.
