Jo Inge Berget looks set to return to Cardiff City in the New Year after failing to make an impact in Ronny Deila's side.

Monday 8th Dec 2014

The on-loan winger signed a six month deal with the Hoops in the summer and was thrown straight into the side's Champions League qualifier against Legia Warsaw the same day.

But the 24-year old hasn't featured for the Parkhead club since the start of October when he came on as a late sub against Dinamo Zagreb.

Celtic have the option to buy Berge but they don't intend to exercise this and instead the Norwegian is likely to return to Wales for the second half of the season.

Deila told the Evening Times, "Jo Inge's loan contract finishes in January. We have not decided yet. But I think Jo Inge needs playing time and, therefore, he will look for other choices."

Berge has scored twice for the Hoops, netting both on his home debut against Dundee United in August.

That's an incredibly nice way of saying he is not good enough and there is no chance in hell we would pay-up for someone of limited ability

haha! :laughing6: Good luck to him, like most of the purchases he's blameless in the saga that is Cardiff City. Buying players for the sake of it is just horrible to see from our club, we never grew up with that as they used to play no matter if they were a good buy or not!

Jo Inge has been a disappointment, but he needs to play to improve. He has been an unused sub for Celtic in 2 of the last 3 matches, but in the last one, he was not in the troop. My guess is he´ll be going back in Norway in January for a small fee, or maybe another Scottish club would want him. Certainly on of the biggest flops brought in by Solskjær.

On the other hand, Berget might be more of the player Slade seems to like. Not the best ball control, but strong, and he´ll do his job defensively.

Like said before Slade doesn't have 1 player of his own choosing! You could be right in this case? :old:

He'll defo leave on January. Hope we get Tom Lawrence, who looks class and is actually Welsh, thus making Men of Harlech pre-match slightly less ridiculous!

For me, this situation epitomizes just one of the many the problems that Tan,,,&OGS have inflicted on our club. When you can't even get a player to cut the mustard in the SPL, you know something is wrong.

Can't see any one really wanting him next January, except on a free.

Look out for some more "mutual" contractual terminations, at a Football Club near you very soon!
