Looking at the Rotherham match we were totally outplayed by a bottom of the table team who were far more energetic, quicker, stronger, and they ran off the ball to create space.
We were slow, sluggish and just played hoofball. We could not string together a series of passes. I believe that it is in only 3 of the 20 games this season that we have had more possession than our opposition. I know possession is not everything but it is concerning. It wasn't even close on Saturday. When the opposition have the ball it is more likely for them to score and the more ball we have its more likely that we will score.
Surely you would have thought that Slade would be working on the speed we play our football. We seem to be slow every game allowing the opposition to close us down. Rotherham had far too much space that they were allowed. At least half of the City team seemed to be asleep not closing down and giving the ball away far too often.
I hope Slade can change this trend.
