" Are City Really that boring? "

By Terry Phillips

You know sometimes they say there are good goalless draws, well this was not one of them. On a frigid afternoon at the Cardiff City Stadium the

Bluebirds failed to bring any warmth to their supporters who responded with near silence from the stands.

There was, in truth, little to shout about from a Cardiff perspective with the side way below even the modest standards they have set of late under new manager Russell Slade.

The Bluebirds were fractured, lacking the ability at times even to string a serious sequence of passes together and for long stretches devoid of any idea of how to break down a stubborn Millers defence. It was a terrible spectacle and made you wonder how Cardiff could put in a passionate, urgent display as they won at Watford last time out and then come up with this poor fare. They will be urging fans to renew their season tickets at Cardiff soon, many more displays like this and supporters will be voting with their feet.

Before Saturday's match, I thought that the game would show us something of Russell Slade's ability to motivate his team. After all, he had every reason to want to win this game and get some revenge against the millers. If you have played football at any level, you know what games like these mean. Everyone should be fired up and ready to go. The fact that there was not a 'performance' worries me as it shows RS can't sufficiently motivate the team enough. It also shows me that City still don't have character on the pitch. If I'd played in front of us on Saturday, my embarrassment at the very least would have driven me to play harder or faster or whatever, so that something different began to happen. I worry that the weak mentality of the players (both individually and corporately) and the manager means that too many of these games will occur and promotion will pass us by, not only this season but maybe for longer.

its the whole experience...and a shyt performance just magnifies the whole day as being dull... :ayatollah:

with the demise of the atmospheres being so apparent in the Premier League, ironically, it was the old Cardiff City that would of been more popular than ever going against the grain of modern football. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yes. We were abysmal on Saturday and fir me it is no concern if it is a one off. The problem is that it's mit. We were also abysmal against Reading at home and poor away to Watford.

Yes, we got points but the quality being produced on the pitch is abysmal.

YES, We are what we are a very basic Championship club, we will finish mid table as we are a mid table team.
The likes of our two biggest rivals Bristol City and the Jacks are far more progressive clubs, The Wurzells are currently redeveloping Ashton Gate to an eventual 44,000 all seated stadium. We I am afraid are going backwards faster than a run away freight train, and their seems to be a big RED cloud hanging over us as a club that will not go away until the present regime go away, and im afraid that does not seem likely for a few years at least :sleepy2: :sleepy2: :sleepy2:
