What the Local Media said about the Atmosphere yesterday

' What the Local Media said about the Atmosphere yesterday at the Cardiff Stadium? '

Atmosphere... what atmosphere?

OK, it was not the most thrilling of encounters, but again one has to mention the atmosphere or rather lack of it at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Apart from some very rare moments, mainly in the second-half, the stadium was quiet, depressing, fans feeling voiceless in perhaps more ways than one.

There is only so much the performances on the pitch are influencing this.

Down the years the Bluebirds have played worse football than this and still the terraces buzzed. Supporters went out of their way to try to lift their side.

Annis , fans are now voting with absence and basically have no soul left to sing at games.

Performance on the pitch is poor and off the pitch the rebrand and uncertainty of where the club is going is really hitting home.

Thing is I don't have answers how to put right !

Tan maybe will sell but who is there to buy.

Realistically if we do manage play offs and at moment itll be tight do we really have a team for Prem , itll cost a fortune to rebuild.

Sad times - Im not a doom and gloom merchant but feel sick to the stomach to see what has happened to my club

We have done this to death but lots of things need to change before it will improve. They can say all this but mark my words, Saturday in Bournemouth we will create am atmosphere. Appreciate away fans lashed up will make more noise but why such a difference?

If it is for all the reasons stated then why when we do travel the support is generally a hundred times better?

I was watching the Villa v Leicester game and the pundits were saying about the low attendances and bad atmosphere at Villa Park. They put it down to poor performances etc etc.

Our problem goes a lot deeper than that.

But it's not just the rebrand, it's our god awful fickle fans. It's never been any different.

We seem to blame the rebrand and Tan for everything.

Some of you lads must have short memories. Every single pundit couldn't stop talking about the fabulous atmosphere at our stadium this time last year. Pundits on Sky were saying it was the best in the Premier League and they loved coming to Cardiff to cover games.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Tan and the rebrand were both in place then.

Our atmosphere is crap because the footballs crap and for me that's the only thing to blame.

Then we had the Malky and Tan saga and then we had Tan talking shit every few weeks and the circus got bigger and bigger.

Uve seen the fans leaving in there 1,000's this season,I spk to hundreds over the weeks, sadly watch next seasons crowds,it hurts me to say it.

I also remember "Pundits" talking about how at the first South Wales derby the atmosphere was deafening which 100% it was not...

Which shows how quiet prem grounds are, which without doubt they are.

It's not just the atmosphere in the ground, fans generally are on a downer before arriving at the stadium. The lead up to games through the week doesn't have the same excitement, in the pub before the game doesn't have the same banter & there's no chants.
Going to games is almost a chore, it doesn't have the same feeling it's a habit!
Yesterday, a guy sat behind me got up and walked out on around the hour mark, I didn't join him but was genuinely bored.
I've watched loads of City games when we've been very poor, but an atmosphere somehow makes it enjoyable?
I sit in the Canton in 108 and could hear the benches shouting on a regular basis yesterday, that shouldn't happen. They even won that battle too! Much louder !

I think we have a right to have a shit atmosphere. We have absolutely nothing to be cheerful about.

Looking forward to Bournemouth next Saturday though, a new ground for me. :ayatollah:

Been going downhill since we started to plunge after Xmas I hear, I think the red has finally killed off even those who had waited all their lives to see us in the top flight. It really wasn't all that so now they have lost all hope. I mean will it really be magically better if we somehow went up again? I don't think so. Only going back to blue will stop the rot now. :bluescarf:
