' ROTHERHAM MANAGER STEVE EVANS TONIGHT SAYS '

Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:05 pm

Saturday 6th December 2014

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans heavily praised the performance of his Millers side after a goalless draw against Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium.

“I think Cardiff have won five out of the last six games here but we have out-passed, out-moved, created chances leaving them to resort to balls up to Kenwyne (Jones),” said Evans after the game.

“Everytime we won possession we got the ball down, at times we were running through them with 10-15 passes. The performance delights me but there is a lot more to come from this young group, and it is something to build on after eight or nine hard working days on the training ground in some evolutionary stages at the club, where we are changing how we play and how we do things and that is working.

I think Evans is spot on and I think we were very lucky not to come away with a 4-0 hammering. They deserved it by a mile!

I agree, we were very poor and had a five minute patch in the entire 90. A good point

Raised their game, nice big stadium and club for them, they are not a bad TEAM, and work very hard, this was always going to be a difficult game........

They played as a team, they closed us down quickly and out passed us with something we didn't have...movement!

Totally agree but look at the table and it tells you that they are a worse team than us.

I couldn't make the game today, but I agree with Bluebina, I actually thought we could loose this game. Still disappointing though,& just shows how much we need to improve on today's performance. It's going to be a tough month (December), In fact, I have a feeling it's going to be a tough New Year also too!

As others have said, this was never going to be an easy game. Rotherham did play well, and we were off form today. Steve Evans has a point, but they were not good enough to beat us. In fact, towards the end, right in front of where we were sitting, we came close to scoring, with a decent save from their keeper, and some desperate clearances. Still, that's what they're there for.

0-0 home draws happen. That's football.

Cobblers - decent save and some desperate clearances by Rotherham? - what game were you watching?! Only winners today could have been Rotherham.

Really? I know we had a 5 minutes but cmon. They could and should have had a few in the first half and a few more chances then the post.

Where all posters want to do is belittle,be sarcastic or undermine another persons posts and not just have a good old football debate :thumbright:

Shocking to be out played at home by Rotherham..... I'm still not fussed on slade or our back room staff... Our formation and set ups is far too predicable. We got stifled by Rotherham.. We have no plan b. we don't know how best to utilise our creative playmakers.. We have proven quality international players barely getting a sniff...
