Playing Ratings v Rotherham

Well lets be honest that was shocking, it’s about what I expected from us performance wise but thought we would have enough about us to nick a 1-0. Rotherham I thought played some nice stuff, passed it about and cut us open a few times. If I was a Rotherham id be going home wondering how we didn’t win that today.

Us well, we had no shape, no real chances, it didn’t feel like we had a shot. Passing was woeful we had no width, no strength in the middle. The front two looked uninterested but who would blame them with the “service” they received. I think it was clear to everyone what we needed, someone with a creative spark, someone who would get on the ball and drive us forward and help cover that space in midfield. Daehli and Morrison sprung to mind, how lucky we had two players like that on the bench but not a surprising that Daehli again didn’t feature and Morrison again had a small cameo.
Seems harsh to have a go at the back four after a clean sheet but today I think that was more down to a lack of clinical finishing from Rotherham than good defending.

Marshall 5 – Two sloppy mistakes in the first half could have resulted in goals, a couple of good shot stops – A clean sheet

Brayford 5 – looked uncomfortable on the left, passing was poor.

Morrison 5 – Did well in the air but felt he was pulled about a bit

Turner 5 – As Morrison but why does he hoof the ball like that, sometimes its needed other times its painful to watch especially when he has a better much simpler pass that can be made.

Connolly 4 – Is not a full back for me.

Kim 5 - Doesnt really fit into the rigid 4-4-2 but tried his best and kepy going

Whitts 5 – lost, a few good passes, a few woeful ones

Gunnar 4 – Game totally passed him by.

Noone 4 – Id have thought Slade would have got the best out of him, perfect for his rigid 4-4-2 but is very out of sorts, decision making and final pass poor, looks low on confidence.

Jones 4 – No service but didn’t go a lot, felt sorry for the front two today

Le Fondre 5 – Worked hard, tried but just not very good.

End on a positive though thats 4 points from 2 days, not a bad return.

Pretty much agree with everything you said. I don't understand how everyone seemed to think Noone had a good game - for me he tried to take on too many virtually every time he got in a good position and lost the ball. Le Fondre was the only one who put in a shift. A total waste of an afternoon.

I know he gets a free pass on here, so i'll expect some abuse

I have to admire slade for throwing in kimbo after good performances in the dvelopment side but the 11 that finished is the 11 we should have started with IMO.

OK well I expected a fight with my ratings but to be honest of happily knock them all down a rating.

If I wrote down all my concerns I'd be hours and then someone would say we average time many points per game. If people can't see the red flags from the last few weeks then all fool them. My concern is the future. Slade isn't the man.
