' Neil Warnock/ Fraizer Campbell '

Thu Dec 04, 2014 9:39 pm

Warnockhas today said he will need to look at his options up front. Bearing in mind Campbell has just been dropped to the bench, this is a great time to offload a number of players on big salaries and get him back. Why?

1 Pace
2 Workrate
3 he would be unplayable playing off jones
4 He loved it at Cardiff and going from Palace means Cardiff would be his last chance at the top.
5 we could lose Macheda, Maynard and sadly Guerra and then have a 4 of Jones, Campbell, LeFondre and Mason - 4 good strikers

Goals, goals, goals in a 442. What do you think? :ayatollah:

if he was offered more money it means he is good at what he does and not fading. Cardiff are finding out the hard way it's not easy to shift players on good salaries who are considered by other clubs not worth it to match or better their existing contract and pay Cardiff a fee

what planet you on he scored about 10 goals in 14 games when we were in the championship

Exactly nubbsy. He ran his bollocks off for us in the Premiership and created problems for many many defenders in the Premiership and that was when he had no support up front playing in a 451 formation against big, fast and experienced defenders. He couldn't score goals easily because he had given so much he was bloody knackered when he had the chances. How people forget - I despair. He gave everything for us. If he came back he would be playing a level below and playing alongside someone. Opposition would have to drop deep as he would play on the last man and there is no way they could handle his pace

Stop pissing about. He won't cost a fortune and he would bang them in. Also - he would bring excitement for the fans.

Obviously not the same planet as you pal

2009–2013 Sunderland 58 app 6 goals
2013–2014 Cardiff City 48 app 13 goals

0.22 goals per game isn't great

Although theres no doubting the guys workrate! :notworthy:

Agree the guys a work horse and I personally loved him at City but his goal ratio is shocking! Check out his stats. We need a 20 goal a season striker not a 10 goal one

But he played on his own up front.

he's a top championship player. but we don't need another striker, we need to offload players before we even think about adding more numbers.

i don't think campbell would be interested in coming back to us in any case.

He's been quite poor for us.

Very surprised at how lazy he is, I heard he was a heard working player but he doesnt close down anything.

Poor first touch and he never shows for the ball, he always seems to be running away from the player who is passing to him and loses it.

I can accept being lazy if he takes his chances but he hasnt, recently against Man united away he was clean though 1 on 1, keeper out of the goal and he put it 10 yards over the bar.

On Tuesday we had a 3 on 1 with Campbell running through and he knocked the ball 5 so far ahead of himself the defender just took it off him.

I think Warnock and the fans have given up on him, we'll buy a new striker in January and get Murray back and he will be 5th choice.

Wouldnt mind swapping him for Kenwyn Jones.

His first touch was poor here, but no one could fault his work rate. perhaps hes just not settling in to london?

Nubbsy is quite right as we are talking about the championship.

He scored 7 goals in 12 games in the championship when he signed for us in the January. That's more than a goal every other game & it was stated he wasn't even match fit.
After that we got promoted, he scored 2 against Man City on the first game at home but was always used as a lone striker which obviously was a lot harder in the Prem.
The point is he would be brilliant for us in the second tier & I'd take him back in a flash, personally.

He has all the attributes of a good striker except he can't hit a Barn door from ten yards, so no to him..........

Fraizer Campbell will occasionally score goals.

Work hard when he was with us but missed a few chances with us in the premier which you can't afford to do for a newly promoted side.

I would take him back, give him a run of games and hope he has learnt from it all if we get back in the premier.
